if your trying to get into the nursing program you can take either one and it will count as your concepts credit

yea. that was my first time looking on web ct since school has been out. i had no idea there was all that info. and i think it said we have to take the test by jan 15. i just turned in my paperwork for the immunizations today. the lady said that i had to get a chickenpox titer still though even though i have already had the chicken pox before.

goopsy and misspink86, have you all taken that dfw hospital council post test yet that is posted on web ct??

i took uta intro to professional nursing in the fall which is the same as concepts to professional nursing. the only difference is its a 3hr class combo of intro to nursing and concepts. the class was super easy. There were only quizes and a final exam. there were no tests. we also had to do a portfolio which was a big precentage of our grade. that was really it.

misspink86, im really not sure the exact grade in need to get on the final, everytime i do calculations i end up with a different answer but I believe i need around a 62 to maintain a C in the class. How did you calculate 490 points?

no i dont know what went wrong. There was just way more material on the test this time and the questions were very vague. ironically i made an A on my patho test which I had taken a day before my pharm test. I have around a 95 avg in patho so im not worried about that class. I was talking to one lady today that was telling me she was accepted into uta's nursing school for the spring and is taking pharm this semester. she said she had to make an 88 on the final in order to make a C avg in the class. The only thing i could think of to tell her was to pray. lol. I plan on going to the post-review session we have for pharm so I can see what questions I missed. How are your classes going Goopsy? hmm i think im going to call the nursing dept. and ask about the whole orientation thing.

goopsy, I havent heard anything either. I have been checking web ct but I still get the "no access" when I click on the orientation link. I am getting so scared about my final in pharm. I didnt do so great on my last test and now I,ve went from a really high B avg to a really low C avg. thanks to that test. I am borderlining failing the class. I know you have to pass pharm and patho to get into nursing school even if you were already accepted into the program. ughh i am soo stressed now.

yes misspink86 i do have a facebook. im not on it very much but ill be sure and join the group. im so scared about having that patho and phram test next week like that. ive been pretty busy bc im in the process of moving into my first apartment in december so ive been trying to get ready for that and then trying to study for both tests at the same time is killing me.lol. ive been trying to figure out a good strategy for balancing studying for both test but its just soo much information you need to know and understand

yaay. i think you made a good choice goopsy. with uta having the smart hospital its hard to turn that down. i turned in my acceptance letter last week. are we suppose to receive some more stuff in the mail after that or do we just have to wait for orientation? I wish they would post the times for the labs/clinicals so i can go ahead and get my schedule organized.

i just got my acceptance letter today, But i am going to decline because I got accepted into UTA which was my first school of choice. So hopefully that means someone will be able to take my place if they were waitlisted! good luck to you all!

hi all, I have a friend who has been trying really hard to get into nursing school. I was just accepted to uta's program for spring 2010 and i promised i would help her out and advice her as much as i could so she could get into a school for fall 2010 semester. She will have around a 3.2 gpa by the end of this semester. realistically does she have a chance of getting in any nursing schools? has anyone been accepted into a nursing program that had less than a 3.5 gpa?

goopsy i would think they would teach you, since it isnt like we have had a course where we have had to use one before. i dont think that would be fair for them to just automatically assume we have takin bp b4. i took a cna program over the summer that taught us how to do bp but even still i think the more practice, the better

congratulations goopsy! which campus did you get accepted to? didnt you apply to uta's fast track program also? have you gotten anything yet for that? Both schools are great nursing schools. I wanted to apply to twu but they wouldnt accept my hesi scores bc i took it at uta. I think the main difference will be that uta has the smart hospital.

lol thanks goopsy...and to everyone else that has been wishing me luck! my mom was sitting on the phone at work crying when i told her. I tried to make it seem like i didnt make it at first and she was like "What oh no we are going up to the school to talk to the dean" lol, then i told her i was just playing and I was accepted.

I Got In ! i just went outside to check the mail and sure enough it finally came! im so excited!!

goospy, yes i applied to other schools also: ut tyler and midwestern state. UTA was my school of choice though since it is so close to home. uta will be the first school i hear from. all the others i wont hear from til next week sometime. Ok now my patience is running out!lol. ive been hearing people talk about how they got their acceptance letters today, I want mine too !lol.

yea i had almost the exact same stats as yal ...3.8 gpa, 89 composite hesi, and 4.0 science gpa...so im confident i got in also...if i didnt i know it had to be because of some error on the application itself. its just really weird that i didnt get anything today considering i dont live far.

Congrats Goopsy and misspink86!!! im so happy for you both!! I dont know what happen with the letter for me..I would have went out there to wait for the mailman but it was puroing down raining!

still nothing as in nothing came in the mail today
