  1. Thank you so much moneybug for your response! I will take your advice with me.
  2. Hello to all! After a year of graduating nursing school, I finally got a job! It's a new grad program and I start in 2 weeks on a med/surg floor. I will be working 3/12s, but not sure if it will be days or nights. I am excited yet nervous! I am reviewing my notes....But not sure if that will do me any help. I would love to hear some advice from all the RNs on the forum. For those of you working nights how do you like it and what do you do to maintain your energy during your shift? Any tips on how to handle the shift (brain sheets) anything at all is much appreciated!! Thanks =)
  3. Thank you both so much for your input! I will focus more on behavioral questions, and hope that I do not get asked a whole lot of clinical/theory questions! Any other input is appreciated!! Thanks to all!
  4. Hi All!I have an interview Monday!! I am excited but nervous. I am prepared for behavioral type questions. But am wondering if as a new grad will I also be asked clinical type questions? If so any tips or examples?Thank you so much in advance! ?
  5. Same here.... A year since graduation and nothing....nada....Yes very depressing.
  6. Mazy- Just want to send you a "cheer up" comment! Be thankful for having a job in this bad economy. Make the best of your days and try (although I know sometimes it’s hard) to see the positive, the light, the goodness in all things. Try to relax when you get home. Let go of the things that you cannot change. Enjoy your day! =)
  7. Second that! I'm sure you enjoy the time with your family after a long shift! Great to hear you enjoy your work!
  8. I just want to vent. I am currently a Kaiser employee and find it very disturbing, frustrating, and very discouraging that they will not give me a chance to prove my skills as a new grad RN! I have tried to talk to so many people and all tell me the same thing, we only hire experienced RNs come back in 6 months! WOW!!
  9. LobotRN, Wow! Great input! Thank you so much for the reply! =) Good stuff, especially the brain sheet!
  10. Hi LobotRN, I am curious what do you have on your laminated card? Please share it would help me and I'm sure many others! =) Thanks!
  11. Hi Buenavida RN! I just took the kaplan questionnaire test 7 and got a 55! I take my test next week. I am bummed about it but I am praying that all will be OK!

  13. Hi all, I am in need of some advise. I am a first semester nursing student. Things were going good until I started clinicals last week. The day went well. I did what I had to do and my patient was really good to me. But NOW I find myself getting really anxious about clinicals to the point where I feel I am getting depressed. I get this gut feeling in my stomach and get super nervous!! Is this normal? Will it go away after a few clinical days? Sigh............ Any advice is much appreciated!
  14. I too feel very very overwhelmed and I am just beginning! I am a first semester nursing student. I am so stressed about everything and the thing is I didnt start feeling like this until we started clinicals this week! My first day was not too bad, I had a great patient. But now ALL I am thinking about is next weeks clinical day!! I am so frusturated with myself because I feel like I am constatly stressing about everything that I do not ENJOY one bit of it! Please let me know how all of you got through all this! I am a mom of two boys 14 & 9, a wife, and work 20 hours a week. This was the worst week EVER! I just feel like I am drowing... And constantly stressing. Any advice is much appreciated.
