  1. Are you talking about driving from LI to NYC? if so, just use mapquest or google maps and that will give you an ETA. Traffic into the city during am and pm rush hour out of LI is rough. You also have the option of taking the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road): http://lirr42.mta.info/ . It takes you from the closest LIRR stop (nearby you) to Penn Station in the city. Honestly, in my opinion, it is NOT a bad commute- especially if you're going from mainly anywhere Nassau County to the city.
  2. From what I know, the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is offered to nurses who have had at least 6 months of emergency nursing experience. And the fellowship is for new graduates, so to answer your question: No, I did not have my TNCC, nor do I believe any of the other candidates did from what I heard.
  3. Lucia1: Thank you so much for replying to my message. I appreciate the feedback and information tremendously. The 3rd interview was exactly like you said. It was a bit intimidating at first since I was not prepared to be siting in a room with 9-10 other candidates. However, it was less of an interview and more of an informal informational session about the ED-Fellowship, schedule design, and basically outlining what we should expect. I was recently offered the position and I am unbelievably excited! :) I'm sorry you didn't get the position. However, you seem to have found your niche wherever you are. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors!
  4. As far as the ER fellowship @ LIJ, I think they've already selected their candidates and I think thats the last ER fellowship for this year.
  5. Practice behavioral questions and be confident!
  6. Hi Shelskyrn2010, I decided to turn down Methodist. I was informed by many, including the VP, that financially Methodist was doing very poorly. Additionally, Methodist's administration was somewhat unprofessional. As well, I was being provided with other opportunities that I did not want to turn down. I also have prior healthcare experience as well, in the related field, and Methodist ultimately did not seem like it would be able to provide me the right opportunities to grow.
  7. I've attached the Critical Care Fellowship Schedule/Design for those of you wondering how the program flows. It is a year long program:
  8. Any updates on anyones recent interview process?
  9. Lucia1 This thread may be outdated by a couple months. But I was called back for the 3rd round of the interview process. So I meet with the Fellowship Educators/Trainers for the ED fellowship. From reading your posts, I guess this isn't just a "formality" type of interview, because after the 3rd round you mentioned, in your previous posts, that you didn't get picked. Could you please tell me what the 3rd interview was like, and what perhaps you may have done differently had you been given another chance? Many Thanks in advance!:)
  10. Its a critical care unit. I'd rather not get specific. I guess I'm going to wait about a week to call back.. However, LHH has been professional and great about working in a timely fashion in regards to moving the process along, so hopefully I will hear from them soon. In the meantime I'm keeping my fingers crossed! !!
  11. I got a call back to meet/interview with the Fellowship Trainer/Educators.. Good Sign?
  12. RN418, Thanks so much for replying to this post and providing some insight. I appreciate the information greatly! I'm currently waiting for Lenox Hill's decision. Do you remember how long you had to wait after your interview with the Nurse Manager etc.,?
  13. Long Island Jewish in New Hyde Park Have you tried calling/touching base with anyone regarding your status?
  14. Was this for the ED or Critical Care Fellowship? I interviewed last week for the ED
  15. How long has it been since your interview? I was told to give it a week, and it will be a week today.
  16. I applied to a listing. And yes, I have a BSN with non-clinical health related experience/background.
  17. Not yet, still waiting. When did they say they would get back to you?
  18. aRN4Life, Did you hear back regarding the position? I interviewed recently and wanted to know how prompt they are with making a decision as well. Many thanks in advance! Mehr
  19. I applied online to a few openings and received a call-back for an interview. Other than that, does anyone have recent information regarding the working environment at Lenox Hill Hospital? Most of the information on allnurses is "outdated". From my understanding, many things have changed since North Shore-LIJ acquired Lenox. And I'm curious to hear what it is like there currently.
  20. yes! did you interview recently?
  21. hi all, does anyone have any recent information regarding lenox hill hospital, nyc (upper east side)? if anyone has been through the hiring process recently, since north shore lij acquired lenox hill, could you please shed some light as to how the interviewing process, the orientation, working on the floor, staff, etc., is like? many thanks in advance! :)
  22. Lucia1: , Did you get end up hearing back from them? Could you also please shed some light on how your interview was like? Many Thanks in advance! :)
  23. I'm assuming this is for the Aug. orientation? If so, how is it so far?
  24. shelskyrn2010, How long after your interview did it take Methodist to get back to you?
  25. I did the same thing and I've also had clinicals there.
