Sounds exciting. Just another few weeks to go. I just registered.

Im going to the Medical Center campus so I am really not sure. Is everyone excited? Lots to do so little time to relax. I cant believe I am actually doing this and going back to school. oh boy.

Ok so time to go through this list. Does walgreens take care clinic give you the titers or order blood work for you? Trying to get that done. May just get an appointment with the doctor so I can have that in sooner. Actually guess it doesnt matter because not getting fingerprinted until AUGUST! Geez no availability. I will probably be the last person to register. I bought one uniform shirt and some other random stuff. I am looking around for some good shoes I can buy. So happy it finally worked out. Everyone else keep your head up! Keep fighting

Hey Everyone, I'm in! :yeah:God is goooooood! Got everything on my transcript cleared up, got my packet, and I will be at orientation on Monday for the part-time. There is a lot to get done before that though! I paid for my seat and the fingerprinting so far. I will be busy the rest of this week completing the requirements.

Sounds like orientation was pretty informative. That is surely a lot of information they gave you. Is everyone excited yet?

30NCN You can probably go to the school tomorrow and see if they have any open seats available for the part time. Hey you never know

What did they go over in orientation? About how long was it and where did you end up parking?

Gods in control so either way I know I will be fine. They wont tell you if you call. They will just tell you the GPA cut off. You would have to come in and be in their face for them to actually do their job.

That is terrible. GPA was probably a little too low or there might have been a mistake. The advisors have the list so you can just come down and ask them. Well I will be in the advisors office all day tomorrow trying to figure out my fate.

It is my ultimate last resort if they are unwilling to help me. No one will respond to my emails or phone messages so I will be there first thing in the morning. I hope by then they will have updated my degree audit. Frustrating experience.

Does any other local school offer a part-time option? I know PBCC does.

Everything is such a struggle at MDC. No one ever know what the other department is doing. That is a shame they missed that you even had a degree!! How do you not notice that? Maybe that is a reason you were not accepted based on their own ignorance. The advisor was trying to tell me to wait until July 12 to discuss my options which would clearly be too late. I decided to go up to the nursing department and ask to speak to someone. They were of course annoyed that I wanted to talk to them but nonetheless they did. At least I was able to get the ball moving and work on my appeal. I should not have to be punished for an advisement department at another campus that failed to advise me for over a year with correct information. I hope they can add my math grade to my audit and have mercy upon me. Who knows. I pray. Have a good week everyone and dont give up...ever! This group is like counseling that we all so need.

I was at Highland Oaks so there must have been another person with the same name! I think the problem is that maybe when they took my algebra from undergrad something went wrong. Too bad after meeting with advisors all this time for over a year I was not told there was a problem of any sort. I am just going to appeal and pray that something can happen for me and that their review will suffice. sigh.

Like I said when I went down there they told everyone the cut off for generic full time was 3.75 so best of luck. @Pomakkya I had a friend a long time ago in elementary school down here with that same name and I always loved it because it was so unique.

I only took science pre-reqs at MDC and the cumulative gpa is 3.95 I went through he** this morning and now it is going up the dean of the nursing school's review because the advisor that signed me off failed to include in the system my credit from my math course. The credit was always there but something in the system failed and it did not show when I applied although each advisor I met with said it was complete. Figures. So at any rate please keep me in your prayers that this will work out favorably. Make sure MDC does not screw you over people! They are quick to tell you to come back next week or next month so they do not have to deal with you.

I called to ask what the cut off was and they said it is 3.75 Which makes me wonder why I was not accepted to that program. I have no idea. They said I can come in and show the letter and see if it was a mistake. My GPA was high enough so idk. Whatever. I just wait to see about the part time which is what I care about.

Regrettably I got a letter today that I was not accepted to the full time generic. Just to gauge the rejection I have a 3.95 ALL CUM GPA, 3.85 INST CUM GPA, and a 3.95 AS PGM GPA so not sure which they needed but whichever it was not enough. Im not bummed at all but still kinda like hmmm. Anyways best of luck to everyone. I really wanted to get into the part time so I guess I will find out about that one later on.

I have to say that DD at the medical campus is the BEST advisor at all of MDC! I sent her an email early last week when I was freaking out about not getting invited to the scholarship meeting. She wrote back today and was so sweet. She said decisions were not yet complete and that letters would be going out in the coming weeks. She also told me to calm down and that she had my application on file :) (I thought maybe something was wrong or somehow they didnt get it...too many scenarios running through my head). Hang in there peeps!

I hope we all get in. We can celebrate before the madness begins. TO the people that have applied before hopefully this time is the charm! Big envelopes here we come...

That would be nice of them to put us out of our misery. Do they send rejection letters or acceptance letters first?

I would say concentrate on the TEAS. Then again you never know what the decision would be for this round as far as GPA. Maybe your GPA will be enough. It would be terrible to have to re-take those courses and it may not cancel out the previous grade and bring your GPA higher. I am not certain exactly so best thing would be to ask a counselor to calculate that out for you. Did you only apply to the full time generic? To everyone who went to the meeting were there a lot of people there?

THANKS!!!! What a breath of fresh air. We forget how intense the program will actually be and the struggles we will undoubtedly go through as we wait for our letters to arrive. Thanks for writing us. It is really encouraging hearing your account of nursing school so far. It is hard to imagine what we will really be in for in a couple of months. Keep working hard and we hope to be working hard alongside you one day!!! To everyone who went to the session what else did they say? Anything exciting? 3000 applicants between all three programs. wow. seriously wow.
