  1. So far I love it. It's definately alot of work and we're just in core. But it's all new, so I just spend as much time as possible reviewing it. A group of us in class formed a study group so that helps too. Hang it there! I know how stressful it is when you just want to get "offically IN". It'll happen, just stay on top of it!
  2. Well, I had to get the MMR (the first shot) and I was able to start without the booster. In fact, I'm due to get the booster this month. Yes, the drug test is peeing in a cup. I don't like it much either. lol
  3. I had most of the them. I was just missing the MMR. So I had to go to the health dept to get that. Otherwise, I needed the flu shot and that was about it. Did you go to the orientation yet?
  4. I was at school today and they said day and nights for January are full. They are now working on April. I got my shots the day I attended orientation. I make a doc appt for that day since I knew I would have the paperwork and went and got it over with.
  5. YEAH!!!! Congrats!! :yeah::yeah:
  6. I have it all! I'll see you tomorrow!!!! Meet you in the same place we met last week?
  7. I haven't made it to TJMax yet. I'm not sure about the books, I'm bringing all of them tomorrow since I don't know for sure. I think I can make it a day with all of them. lol
  8. Deal! Ok, you pressed your scrubs? I washed everything to try and shrink it a little. But, my bag is packed, my clothes set out, my alarm is set and my anxiety has offically set in. lol I couldn't find a rolling backpack that I liked, so I'm going to use my backpack until I find one or until my back gives out, then I can switch to suitcase or something. lol
  9. Thanks!! I'm soooooooo nervous!!!!!!
  10. Won't be hard to miss. I'll probably have panic on my face. lol
  11. Ok, that would be great! Looking forward to it. We'll have to figure out when/where :)
  12. amayabrianna - i think classes end at 145..when does yours start?
  13. Yes, I will def study with you! I'm trying to psych myself up that it's going to be really difficult and hopefully I'll do alright. I always hated school and was never very good at it, but with this, I seem to be pretty "gung ho", so that's a good sign. As far as the TEAS and TABE. I did great on the TABE, on the TEAS I did ok. I really bombed science. I was freaked out because I thought I would have bombed the math. But, I only had to take it once, so I was more than happy! Yeah, I heard that the first couple of weeks was core and wasn't super intense. Hopefully, that'll be enough to get acclimated. I did hear some great things about ATC so that's a relief. I went to a computer class years ago in Ft Laud and it was HORRIBLE. Blah. :)
  14. Yeah!!! I am attending days, what about you? I registered August 5th. The August classes were full already to I had to move to Oct. Have fun at registration, lol. I waited for a couple of hours. Bring something to read! I am extremely excited. I've been waiting all summer. I have moments of "freaking out" but overall it's total excitement! Did you get your books already?
  15. Looking for future classmates!
  16. I'm not sure on the job search thing. I wish that was the case. I'll add it to my ever-growing list of things I need to ask/do.
  17. Yeah!!! I'm going to PM you.
  18. .. Ugh, I know how frustrating it is. Sorry you didn't get it. There's always tomorrow. Think positive! Thanks for the info on the PDA stuff. I'll have to check that out. I hate waiting until the last minute as well. Drives me nuts. Although I do procrastinate on some things, other things I wanted planned and finished well in advance. I am really optimistic about the job opportunities for us when we graduate. I read other articles and stuff (other than on here) and they still point to this having more growth than just about any other career. It'll work out and it's the right thing to be doing. (That's what I keep telling myself) Now you have me curious about the books on PDA. I am off to check it out. ****tomorrow the letter will arrive****
  19. I hope your letter comes today!!! What have you heard about the PDA? I have a G1 from T-Mobile already but curious as to why a PDA would be helpful. Applications? Anyway, I think I'm going get the backpack and the watch they have at school. I guess the watch has a second hand and I think I heard it does military time. I'll have to check it out. I LOVE HGTV!!!:redbeathe I'm fascinated with it. I can't match anything, but I love the crazy things they do sometimes, especially the outdoor kitchens and pools. I think I'm pretty set for school. I have to get the 2nd dose of my MMR immunization, my uniform and some pens/paper and the backpack/watch. I hope I'm not forgetting something stupid. lol So the next time you write, I hope it starts with "I got my letter!!!" :)
  20. I heard the same thing about the "backpacks on wheels". I heard you can get them at the bookstore. I'm going to get one. I don't want to kill myself carrying books. lol I also heard of the online terminology exercises and yes, I'm going to them as well. I also need to brush up on my fractions. They scared me in 7th grade and they still freak me out. I hope this recession is over soon. It's slightly demotivating to think that even nurses are affected. But, as with anything, you don't know until you try and at least it's something we'll have forever. I figure it's the first door to open to many more choices you have later. Can you tell I have nothing to do but think of "deep" thoughts? lol What's really sad is I'm watching TOO much Judge Judy. Although I've been enjoying Dr. Oz :) Reading through the books is quite cool, at least for now. I'm sure I'll be sick of them in a few months! I hope you get your letter soon!!
  21. No benefits? yikes! Well, I chose it because I've always had an interest in it, but never really pursued it. Secondly, I chose it because as far as stability, growth and opportunity, it comes in first place. Besides, I figured that I can always do it anywhere. Not that I plan on moving, but hey, you never know. Wait until you get the books! I almost passed out when she stacked all of them on the counter. 7 or 8 books. HUGE books. I kept thinking how in the hell am I going to get these to the parking lot! LOL
  22. Well, I heard from school this morning and they stated that the core is included in the curriculum. Whew!! Lol no worries. What I've found so far is to get used fractions, roman numerals, military time, etc. Its funny that you were in call centers because that's what I did. Althought I hate no working I do not miss the stress and politics of the call center environment. 13 years was plenty. So,,,I'm really excited to start. I've been flipping through some of the books already. Let's hope the job market improves by this time next year. I found the same info you did, we must have read the same entries!! The shox are all white except for a piece in the back that's silver. I'm either going to buy some cheap all white shoes from walmart or paint the silver. At least until I know just how "nazi" they are. at least you've recently been to school. I haven't been in 20 or more years. I hope I can remember how to study!!!!!
  23. Well you made me nervous so I just sent an email to atlantic asking them about the core question. Don't feel bad, I've been out of work for a while now as well. That's why I'm so anxious to start school. I did read a comment from soneone else on here stating that the first weeks of class was core. Ill find out soon enough I guess. I'm going to days as well. My brain works better in the mornings. Lol I ordered the shox online and so far I'm happy with them. I've been reading about some of the things you can start studying in advance so I thinkk I'm gonna start now and hopefully won't feel so lost on the first day.
