Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
AGAIN..go back and please "read" it says "I'm on the BON" that woukd mean I'm registered. I'm a PCT patient care tech aka CNA 11, not a Cna 1 If you are a LPN I basically do what you do Suctioning, catheters, wound care, extra..we work mainly in hospitals where were wanted mostly now days.. I left that place last week it was unprofessional & a temp job for me anyway until I finally got the job I applied for at a hospital. Lpn's work on the other side in assosted living and LT. Lpn's don't work in hospitals if so maybe 10% if that. It's Rn, Cna 11 aka Patient care tech Either or I never once said I reported anyone to the BON? Cna 11's are registered on the State Board of Nursing thought as an Lpn you'd of known that? My bad

Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
Whoa? How rude "some" can be here!! If you had of read ALL my posts you'd of seen my first language is French not English this thread has turned into a telephone game thread where one child whispers something into another childs ear and it changes at the end! Next time please read everything before assuming and putting people down for being a different culture. Do you treat your pt's like this if they can't spell or speak English? First I never reported anything to the BON? Where did you get that? Why would I do that? The person I reported this to was the DON not BON huge diffence =/ ummm and there was NO NURSE Rn there I've said that idk how many times now? She, was a 19 year old med tech. In NC med techs are responsible for contacting the Rn on call. She didn't do that. Nor did she chart anything. Nothing, ziltch. Which means it never happened isn't that basic nursing 101 to know this? So if a PT has a high BP are you going to do nothing & simply walk away? Med tech, RN whomever if I've done my job & told you several times and he strokes out you betcha Id report you and those bills you have I could care less about! Are you insane? Abyway, I didn't know she didn't do anything until the next day. My shift was over. What ends up happening a different day on my shift again, but a different med tech..residents BP was again very high! This time the med tech made phone calls and within 30 the EMT's arrived. This whole thread has been misread so perhaps it's my bad for thinking what I wrote made sense. My language Is not good. I'm French. I apologize. I reported this Med Tech and the people involved in the high school drama to the DON of the facility after I found out. And, I'd do it again I'm lost here what exactly I did so bad? Am I the only one who cares for people? As of now I coukd care less about the high school drama my concern was his vitals, and I feel I did nothing wrong. Forgive me if I come off uoset because after reading your post I'm like Wtheck??

Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
They moved me to the other unit. Lt. And want me to start using my NA 11 every other weekend to start doing treatments, sucting, wound care, catheters.. But this isn't a he said I've been told she admitted it? But as I said days later he was admitted to ed for same Bp. But I get what you are saying Big Al. In my own opiniin I did the right thing by reporting a med texh for failure to not chart and putting that resident in danger. And her not reporting and calling the on call Rn.

Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
But what if a patient had a BP 180/53 and you find out the oral report was never charted & a day later he ens up in Ed. Nurse sleeping in patients beds while not working, leaving for an hour leaving us while she is suppose to be aupervising us? She put patients at risk.. I don't understand. No this highschool mentality.. Priorities and pt's first? I'm lost. Plus they all talk about each other daily.it's ridiculous.. Do I just say nothing? Ignore it. Put pt's at risk? How would you handle it?

Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
You are rude & not professional at all. . We are all on the same team. Btw, I'm French & I won't engage in this insult regarding my spelling or grammer. This was a question to professionals regarding a resident and his safety. Do you feel better now for putting me down and attacking my spelling? Go find someone else to bully. Grow up! I also felt nothing wrong with saying research it. I myself am lost with how this facility works or I wouldn't be asking this question!

Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
Were NOT allowed to chart. Again, all reportas - prn vitals are made to the med texh idk how many more time to say this. Knowing this sounds off. But in Memory care and assisted living med techs in NC are who we report to.
-
Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
That is the way it works here at the facility. IF there is a problem the MED TECH is reaponisble its HER licence not mine. Unless I neglect, abuse, extra. MED TECH is who ALL CNA'S report to.
-
Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
NO. This is memory care. My role is to report to the med tech. In NC no LPN, or RN on this floor in the evening.. The MED TECH is suppose to report to the on call Rn. In NC med tech admin narcotics Sublingual cannot push. It's crazy. 2 week course. I had nobody to report to again but the med tech. Please do reaearch on med tech in NC. Now, when I found days later and it happened again. I reported her for NOT charting it and calling the Rn i had no idea. I didnt know if he had BP issues, taking meds..extra. Only med tech knows this. Not my scope!

Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
I underatand. I "assumed" the med tech wrote it in chart. There is no Rn in this facility at night. I was afraid, new. Now the DON knows. I did however report it days later to the Rn because I "assume"it had been charted by the med tech. I am hired here as a cna 1. But a NA 11.

Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
I did an oral report on a residents high BP it was never charted. Med tech sleeping in a residents bed at night while resident was in hallway on couch. Same med tech verbally threated me to take me out back kick my butt, witnesses. Don already contacted a supposed "inveatigation" being sone. How is this going to effect me, a residents BP was not charted? 2 days later resident ends up in Er same issue high BP this time dealth with.

Starting salary for new RN grads at NHRMC
I think you might be in the wrong business. Comparing bartending to nursing ehhhhhhh says alot about your reasoning for becoming a nurse! Just say'n Cna's work their asses off too and get paid nothing basically. I can do pretty much everything a LPN (former btw) can do as a NA 11 and don't complain about what I FEEL I'm worth. Hell were All worth more..lol =/ I do this job not just for the money I do this mainly to HELP others. New Hanover is a GREAT place to work! If anyone did their homework it's 1 of the top 10's finest! You sound like you belong back where you came from. Good riddens.

Cna-Rn bullying, lies, hiding things on charts
I know I placed this under nursing and am aware I'm not a nurse but on NcBon so I hope this ok. Idk where to start (drained). Long story short. Rn Supervisor is bad management here is why. Memory Care: I approached a med tech with a oral chief complaint from a resident with chest pain. Bp 180/53. She walked off & took it again, said nothing did nothing. He continued with pain she did nothing. I asked her what she was going to do? She said he has heart burn. 2 days later a cna-med texh known bully comes up to me and says " I heard your a liar, and you dont know how to take a bp"? I was speechless. I said well too much & I know this now. But I said & if this other med - tech felt this why are you in here telling me not her. Drama* 2 days later the SAME resident complains of chest pain. Guess what I got the same BP this time different med tech and off he went with a nitro to Ed. I find out later this original med-tech NEVER charted what I told her. Nothing, zip! I contacted my supervisor on a Sunday k. That same night one of the main bully's I can't find ..hmm guess where she was..in a residents room laying in her recycler chair, watching tv while the resident was on the couch in our main living room. Monday comes & I still dont hear from Rn and other girls start giving me dirty looks, making stuff up drama* Next, I see the Rn. Guess what she does. A big group meeting in the SAME AREA where ALL our memory care residents are walking around ok! Saying..NOTHING TO ME? NOTHING? At her meeting she says nobody should be texting me on a Sun, no drama, bla, bla. I couldn't believe it! I ended up telling her I will not work the same shifts with a med tech who puts a life at risk on my clock! I will not work with the other ine who sleeps on job in others room and talks about everyone. She said to bad see you tomorriw basically. I told her I wouldn't be showing and walked out. Idk if this place is all in this together but now I have the DON involved who has put me on a different floor, and while getting there the bully is witnessed in the hallway by others threatening to take me outside and kick my a** in the facility. Still nothing day 4 days later???? Investigation? And nobody has been fired, nothing? Not even after threatening me? I KNOW this floor is very, very short staffed atm and that is the only reason I am assuming heads aren't rolling? Even though how about this Rn and how she dealt with this? What am I missing I feel like a deer in the headlights. What did I do wrong. Am I suppose to never SPEAK UP FOR MY PATIENTS-RESIDENTS? THIS is insanity Advise

Can a CMA teach a MA class?
Who teaches medical assistant classes? I know in Ca it's lvn, & Rn's? Is NC any different? Can a CMA teach a medical assistant class? I've been all over the internet and could not find this out? Also, can a licenced phlebotamist teach, phlebotomy classes? Last question. Can a medical aide or cna, medical assistant teach cna 1 classes? Isn't there somewhere I can find a site that answers all these questions? Thank you

To tell or not to tell!
Idk how to add psu_213 This whole being a "snitch" reporting vs not reporting can play out just as bad!!! Example: As a student I witnessed a stage 2 decubitis on a residence lower region while the cna was doing perinatal care. I never told her superior because I'm not there to get people fired and am just a student but I did stop her & pointed to it and she said, OHH I didn't even notice that! :nono:plz! It was daytime the room was well lit and it was about 2x3. Next thing I know she's running around making up false lies up about me..That's okay. I still haven't completed this program but if you don't think reporting something like this matters then hey I guess I'm a snitch and I'm ok with that because that poor resident could be anyone's Mom. I'm praying you see this as "different" matter or would you just let this go too and not "snitch" just curious??? Don't THUGS use terms like snitches geezzz

CNA training at private college: my certificate being withheld
Certifying State? What exactly is that and how do I contact? Isn't this a State issue if she's witholding my certificate if I've passed all my assignments and clinics?
-
CNA training at private college: my certificate being withheld
? There are many privately owned colleges for cna, lpn so I'm not sure why that question was questioned. Not all cokleges are State or community. No, he knows cockroaches have zero to do with hippa, and as for what I saw there he knew I knew what hippa is considering my history with nurse assisting, medical assistant, home health aid and "some lpn school was not able to afford abymore so into 4th month dropped out. I know they were told by State 1 more complaint and their shutting down. I believe this was more of a fear. I still need to know what to do because I've completed what was suppose to be completed accept for one final exam which is what she is also avaoiding me about???

I can't believe I'm hearing all this advise, wow.

CNA training at private college: my certificate being withheld
I attended a private CNA college. iI have a few questions and delays going on and I don't know what to do. First, I've completed all my assignments and passed. I also finished my clinics, and lab. Well, when I did my clinics the Rn was never there at the long term facility. A med tech was in charge of us, and NO RN. While doing my clinics I observed a cna ignoring a decubitis on the elderly lady's lower dosal while changing and getting resident out of bed. I said nothing but I did POINT at it and she said O I missed that! The room was well lit!! IAnd the decubitis was about 2x2. I also witnessed MANY cockroaches here. My first mistake was to tell the med tech who was in charge of ALL of us students & also a former student for this college. When I was getting ready to leave he said, you do know this place is like Vegas what you saw here stays here! Wow! Yet, he later goes to the RN who owns the school and told her I was doing things not in my student role. after her confronting me I told her the cna's name well, the med tech lied and told her didn't know who the cna was and denyed me telling him these things. So I'm told by the RN I was not suppose to do that.or show ONE cna student how to make a closed bed? Meanwhile ALL the other students were helping each other out and some were former cna's. So a week goes by and I asked her about my certificate? She told me she'll let me if I've got anything left to do and will get back with me. Also, I had a grant to pay for my classes. MILITARY. I was told she hasn't collected it. Now when I contact her She ignores me. What do I do??
