Chicago area BSN Programs
You could look into St Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in Peoria. It's a couple hrs outside of Chicago, but the cost of living is cheaper. I was turned down by a number of schools in CA and finally decided to apply out of state and I got in here. They accept 90 students each semester opposed to the 30-60 they accepted each semester in CA. I'm not sure how it is in Chicago. You have to have the first two years of prereqs done before you apply though, and the next semester they are accepting applications for is for Spring 2011. Good luck!!

Info about St Francis College of Nursing
Hi everybody! This is a little off topic from nursing, but I am moving to Peoria from California at the end of the year to attend St Francis College of Nursing, and it's getting to be crunch time for finding an apartment. My husband and I are considering Savannah Meadows and Knoxville Pointe, and we can't decide!! There are pros and cons to both. Does anybody know about either of these places that can offer advice? It's hard to shop for apartments from 6 states away...any help would be appreciated!! Thank you!

Pharmacology Help
I just bought the Saunders Nursing Survival Guide for Pharmacology. I haven't started the class yet, I'm just trying to get a head start, cause pharm scares me (even though both my parents are pharmacists)! Therefore, I don't know how helpful it will be to you, but for a beginner, I think it is very helpful. Seems to get down to the point of whats important. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Prep for nursing school-help!!
Hi everybody! I'm starting nursing school in the Spring and I'm getting very nervous, especially after reading some of these posts! I'm just wondering if there's anything you wish you would have done to better prepare yourself for nursing school? Right now, I'm just brushing up on my anatomy, medical terminology, and math, and am thinking about getting a head start on pharmacology. Is there anything else I can do to prepare or do you have any advice for the transition? Thanks for all your help!!

Hey Sweet Lime!! That's so exciting that you get to start earlier!! It's coming up so fast!! If you don't mind, where did you decide to live? I want to be close to the school but I couldn't find a nice place that was in a decent radius from the school. I want to be as close as possible because I'm not used to driving in snow and am actually terrified (I know, I better get used to it). Or perhaps you are more familiar with the area and can tell me the best place that is close? We have our name on the waiting list at Knoxville Point and Prairie Vista, but they are both a little farther than I wanted. Anyways, thank you and good luck with your first semester!!!
