  1. I asked and was told not until June! geesh!
  2. Heads-up. First, go talk to your prof. You really made a critical learning error by studying 10 hours directly into your exam. Our brains need a break to actually move information into long term processing. Since this is so clearly not indicative of your abilities go have an honest talk. At worst case scenario you might learn something about how to study, how to negotiate with professors, and perhaps s/he may even have an insight into you or the way you approach academics that you have yet to learn about yourself. Show up with options and solutions - including a few extremes. Offer to write a comprehensive paper, see if s/he will hold the grade into next semester and let you audit and re-sit the final exam. Be gracious, willing and contrite. Presume the best, be open and honest, and accept where it goes. More good advice above - but at a minimum, if you can not undo this, try to learn from it.
  3. Not a problem, in fact don't leave home to go abroad! University of Toronto offers Human Physiology online through their school of medicine! I am also doing Statistics at Ryerson University in person over the summer - Toronto is an awesome city...in the summer. Ryerson courses, only $500.00 Canadian, UofT - ~$1000.00 Canadian.
  4. If you have a great GPA AND SOLID relevant life experience look into an accelerated NP Program - Columbia, UCSF...three years and walk into a 100K+ job. Alternatively shoot for one of the better two year accelerated Nursing DEGREE programs. Even consider somewhere like University of Toronto in Canada which has an incredible international reputation. Lots out there.
  5. UCSF MENP Program - if that is what you are referring to requires an undergraduate degree, and stats, physio and anatomy and the GRE. It is s 3 year degree leading to an NP. From what I understand a 4.0 will not get you in the door - you need to be well rounded, lots of relative experience in community, particularly in marginalized settings. They are looking for folks with life experience that has drawn them to being an NP - more as a calling I think then a profession. I am applying myself with a wack load of the above but not holding my breathe! My back ups are two Canadian Universities who likewise require an undergraduate degree (or close to). University of Toronto, a two year program leading to a Bachelor degree in nursing, and reputed to be one of the better schools in the world, and University of British Columbia - even at foreign students fees they are more competitive then some here - and hey, you get to live in Canada, land of socialized medicine. Nice to be where a government believes in caring for its people!
