Well I am going to be insane and take a huge load because I have had two bad fall semesters in a row. Fall 2007 my father got very ill and I had to help out and dropped three classes. Fall 2008 my A&P teacher got really ill and the class had to change their schedules around to accomodate the subsitute teacher, and then she didn't use the sub and we had to keep the changed schedule, so I had to drop the class. I also have an opportunity to get an awesome minor that will not be offered after this academic year and the fall is the last time that the core class will be offered. I have a lot of support and I currently don't work because of the Social Security survivor's benefits that I receive for me and my son. At the community college A&P II Micro At the university Organic Chem Ancient Phil-pre for elective minor class for spring Ethics Phil-core class for minor Health Care Ethics-core class for minor-online Med math/terminology-online I want to get everything done because of the two bad falls that I had. I will apply to the BSN in Jan and the two community colleges in the spring. I am determined to do it and I will do it. Just no outside stuff other than school and home.

I am taking Sociology online through my cc. At the university for the first session I am taking Nutrition and Statistics and the second session Communications. I have taken summer classes for the past two summers at the cc and in the end it is worth it. I can get started on the Sociology class now because the teacher has posted the guidelines and assignments on her website. Yea! In this little break I have I need to organize my house because my fiance will be moving in at the begining of July, eeek!

If you have the ISBN number, I like going to www.bookfinder4u.com. It gives you several sites to purchase the newest editions for half the price. I love www.alibris.com for finding books. Having the ISBN number is the key. Also go to your local craigslist. A student was selling her books and I got my nutrition, organic chem and medical terminology/math books, a total of five, for only $150! Make sure on craigslist that they list the course number and the college, because I almost bought the wrong statistics book a couple of days ago. If you know what fall courses you are going to have, make sure to order the books now, sometimes shipping can take forever!

Well, I had a couple of bumps in the road, but almost there. The 2009-2010 year will be my fourth year in school. I had to retake a couple of classes, but as of this year I will be done and ready to apply. Yes, I am insane enough to obtain a minor. Because of the state of Nevada budget cuts, the fall semester is the last time they are offering it. I will be minoring in Health Care Ethics. The cool thing is that I will be able to knock out a couple of degree requirements with this minor. Don't give up. My first year of school was all remedial courses in math and English. Oh, I will be 43 in June and my nursing advisor told me that she had a 66 yr old graduate with a BSN. Good luck!

I am going to be insane through the end of the year. In the summer I will be taking Sociology and Communications online and then Nutrition and Statistics. In the fall I will be taking Micro, A&P II, Organic Chem, a combination medical math/terminology which is online, an art class and a philosophy class. I need to get all these done by January when the BSN program is taking applications. I am currently taking Micro, but lost some points because I had car problems and a sick 5 yr old, so I know I will probably get a B in the class, and I will retake A&P II which I dropped because the teacher had medical problems and she wanted to teach even though she was sick and I had a bad experience with her. In addition, the Sociology will be a retake too. I understood the class, but the teachers tests were hard and the online teacher already has the guidelines for the class online, so I can start the work early. You can do it! Think of this as preparation for what is going to be expected of you in the clinicals. I am a member of my NSNA club and I am on good terms with one of the nursing professors, and she told me that the people who do their classes slow for the A's often don't do as well with the pressure of the clinicals.
