Helping non-patients
I see what you're saying! It was so long ago when we discussed it, you're probably right. Thank you for your help.

Helping non-patients
A coworker is writing a paper on ethical issues in the hospital, and I immediately thought about the lecture where my instructor mentioned something about assisting patients into the hosital while "on the clock." I wasn't insinuating that nurses were looking out windows. More or less I was considering if a nurse was working in the ED and someone ran inside stating that a person was hurt. Would the nurse be able to act on that?

I was once told by an instructor that if a nurse is working in the hospital and is told that a person is hurt on the street outside, by law, the nurse is NOT allowed to assit until that person is INSIDE the hosptial. Is this accurate? If so, what is this law called?

UPMC Shadyside Fall 2013
Yeah I'll be working full time, but I know it'll be easier to work while in the part time program rather than the full time program :)

I'm at the school now for the summer program and from what everyone has talked about i think you'd be better off buying the books. You'll most likely be using them again. Hope That Helps!

West Penn School of Nursing?
Do you mean for the Clarion classes? If so, I had trouble at first and had to call them. After I called they fixed it after transfering me a couple times. I had like a "hold on my account" or something like that.

Hey, does anyone know how the parking situation works at West Penn? I know they said they can do the whole shuttle thing but is there a way to park in the parking garage? If anyone knows can you please get back to me. I move in this Saturday and have no idea. THANKS :wink2:

West Penn School of Nursing?
It took a while to hear back so I made sure that I kept calling back a lot. I emailed them constantly too. I was basically an annoying pest until they set up my interview. Just keep trying

That's awesome. I'm so excited and also kinda nervous. Are you going to be living at the school?

West Penn School of Nursing?
I applied for this school back in Jan and received a call today to set up an interview. I was just wondering how your interview went (obviously good since you got in)! Congrats I was just wondering what they asked etc? Also how long after did you have to wait to find out you got in? Thank you Laura Hey, Whenever I went for my interview the school was on a break so she could meet with the board earlier to find out if I got in. I heard probably a couple weeks later. After my interview she told me i most likely got in but it wasn't official. I was really nervous for my interview but she was really nice. Since I'm graduating high school this year she asked a lot about my sciences classes I was taking and if they were taught at a college or high school level. She asked a lot about how I became interested in west penn in particular and why i chose the nursing field. Also there were a lot of questions about what nurses do in general and she wants to be sure you know about some of the dirty work involved. She gives tons of information about the school that made me want to go there even more. I'm really excited and I hope it goes well for you! Let me know!

West Penn School of Nursing?
I recently got accepted into the West Penn School of Nursing and I'm attending there this August. Everything that I've read about it seems like it is a great place to go. Whenever I went on my interview the instructor told me that it the school probably the most males than other nursing schools. I hope that helps!
