HELP! Low Kaplan Scores, Taking NCLEX March 2011. Should I Rescedule?
I wouldn't worry too much about Kaplan scores. I scored consistantly in the 50s for all Q banks and for the 7 Q trainers. I think a 55 on Q trainer 7 and I passed on the first try with 75 questions. As long as you know your basic info and understand how to work through a question, you'll do fine.

NYU 15 Month Accelerated BSN - Please share your experience
did any of your professors allow you to record their lectures w. digital voice recorders? what was the best way you/other nyu students found to be the best way to take notes. im considering getting a netbook/laptop to bring to class, but they don't seem very useful when it comes to clinicals.

Finally found a job!
Congrats to all that have found jobs!. Quick question. I'm going to be starting an accelerated BSN program this coming Fall and am getting worried since I'm hearing abt how hard it is for new grads to find jobs! Did you guys have externships during your time in nursing school? And are they a huge factor in finding jobs post grad?

NYU Accelerated BSN Fall 2009
hey guys im in the same boat. NYU v Georgetown. Its really hard to decide. I live in NY so a part of me feels like I should just stay here, it will probably be easier for me $ wise and this way I don't have to go through the hassle of finding a new place to live in DC.

Georgetown Accelerated BSN Program Fall 09 Interviews?
Hey just to double check, these are the 2 essays we need for the scholarship program right? 1. Describe a personal challenge that you faced. Focus on how you met the challenge and what lessons you learned from the experience (500 words or less). 2. The District of Columbia struggles with high rates of poverty and chronic disease conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, asthma, cancer, and HIV/AIDS. Describe how you will use your nursing skills to affect the health and wellness of the vulnerable patients in your care (500 words or less).

Georgetown V. NYU accelerated 2nd BSN
hey thanks for the responses. I've already been accepted into both and am in the process of applying the for the georgetown scholarship. I'm most concerned with the program themselves. I've heard both good and bad things about each school. NYU has about 200 people in the incoming BSN class and so I've heard that the classes are all large lecture courses and some clinicals are a bit crowded, but I would have the resources of the whole university. Georgetown is supposedly very rigid in the course structure and doesn't really allow any wiggle room, but there are only 60 students in the incoming class which means there is a lot of individualized attention and small clinical groups.
