sjbubbles 24: In my case, i just sent my certified true copy of TOR to NMBWA since it's already certified by our school's registrar.. with regards to the certificate of employment, 4vida was right, you only have to send a photocopy of it. no original documents must be forwarded... :) Good luck!

don't lose hope... we're from the same batch and have accomplished with success every exams needed to become USRN.. but because of retrogression and downturn of the economy worldwide, our dreams of going there is just impossible.. for the meantime :) I'm still keeping my fingers crossed because not all nurses are able to achieve what we have achieved. we're not alone in this US application so cheer up. It's just a matter of time... Just an info, Oz is accepting nurses even without hospital experience.. like in queensland and victoria, if i'm not mistaken. a lot of newly grad filipino nurses have applied there.. Honestly, I'm also one of them :) but since i already have an experience, i opted for WA. I already received an assessment letter from the nursing board and just waiting for the offer letter from the hospital that i've applied for the bridging program.. So don't lose hope. God has plans for us. It may seem that we are not getting what we want from Him, but He is just probably waiting for the right time. Let His Will be done, not ours! God Bless :)

Personally, experiences like this adds up to the big responsibility vested on the shoulders of the nurses in the workplace. Though we are being taught at nursing schools the proper attitude or values nurses must possess, incidents like this can really test our patience especially if you've already had a whole bad and tiring day at work.. But so far, i've never had any experience yet of being physically harmed by my patient and i'm not waiting or desiring for it to happen t0 me.. what are your thoughts about this article?.. is there anybody who experienced some form of physical harm by their patients?!

I think they do have a limited slot at DOH because one of the members of this forum who applied at NMBWA also inquired there and was informed that they don't have any available slots left for the BP or something like that.. ok dear keep me posted with your progress Good luck in your next ielts exam! 4vida: hi! im not considering DOH because I've worked in a hospital for only 1 1/2 years and 7 months in a clinic so i don't think i'm qualified to apply there.. But yeah they differ in BP fee, the DOH's BP is more expensive with AUD 2,000+ while in HPH, it costs AUD 1,100.. Good luck in your IELTS exam! :paw: chocokat: congratulations! I've read a lot of articles as well as threads from this forum that NZ does not accept filipino nurses who are second coursers. They only accept those who finished their BSN for four years.. :)

There's a nurse re-entry program at the Philippine Heart Center for nurses who have been out of practice.. It's a four month training program which is only conducted once a year, if i'm not mistaken. I'm just not quite sure though if they have a criteria on how many years the nurse must have not practiced the nursing profession in order to be qualified for the program.. I suggest visiting the website for information or visit PHC for further inquiry. :)

hey sure no problem.. i'll keep you posted :) i have the assessment letter already. Just waiting for the result of my application to HPH if i'll be included in the sept run. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed to be selected for the bridging program as they only accept 25 applicants per program, so it's really a little competitive.. i've also learned that out of the 25 applicants, they would just probably select 12 or 13 overseas nurses as they don't want too many foreign nurses whose first language is not english and who has limited acute nursing experience in one batch. The other half will be filled by RNs in australia who wants to return to nursing practice.. How about you? have you applied at NMBWA already?

hi 4vida :) it took a little longer for me to receive my assessment letter from the NMBWA because unfortunately, my RLE was not attached to my TOR. I thought the TOR was already enough.. So, when i mailed my credentials & application form around first week of March, i received an acknowledgement by March 25, along with an advise to submit breakdown of theoretical and clinical hours, which i did around first week of april. Then I received my assessment letter last april 29. So to sum it up, it took me almost 2 months from the day that i mailed my application to receiving the assessment letter... It would be less if all the documents were submitted completely.. :)

each country has their own set of medical requirements so i think it is difficult to specify the vaccinations / procedures that you are asking. However, as what Silverdragon mentioned, most medical exams cover laboratory tests, chest xray and vaccinations.

what your friend might be referring to is the fact that, if you already finished a first course ( healthcare course related or not ), your credentials will be evaluated by any school you are interested to attend to, and there are chances that some of your minor subjects will be credited, thus letting you finish the BSN faster than it should be.The more minor subjects credited, the faster it will take you to finish the BSN course... Just speaking from a personal experience, i graduated BS Psychology, AB Guidance & Couseling in one of the private schools in Manila. Then i enrolled in Nursing in one of the reputable schools also in Manila and was able to finish my BSN after 3 years of schooling.

it's ok don't worry :).. i applied at WA and has received the assessment letter already. I'm just waiting now for the result of my application at HPH if i would be given a slot for the september run. Results would be given at mid to late july so i'm really praying hard to be given an offer from the hospital. By the way, i was able to receive your email. :) God Bless!

hi.. i was told that the program is not that difficult if one has a work experience already. Though the program itself comprises of theoretical and clinical placement, one must demonstrate knowledge and skills in the clinical part since preceptors' evaluation are always final.. In my friend's BP batch, all of them were able to pass their course and have gained registration :)

hi txx119 :).. I have not taken yet the bridging course as i am still waiting for my offer from the hospital in Australia to take the program. However, from the infos i have gathered with regards to taking the bridging program, overseas educated nurses whose first language is not english will be advised to take it. It ranges from 3-6 months, depending on the course provider. It involves theoretical and clinical placement in a hospital.. The bridging program in Queensland, called as the CAS, may be taken by challenging the four modules or through taking up the educational modules. With regards to other States, if i'm not mistaken the bridging program is just basically the same , it just depends on the length of the course. . hope this helps :)

hi jeplong.. you can apply for the bridging program by choosing first where in Australia you intend to take your BP. Then you apply to the State Board, as mentioned by Aelith. The cost of the BP depends on the course providers like in Hollywood Private Hospital in WA, the current cost is AU$1100. There are some States that requires experience and there are also those who accepts applicants even with zero experience. The IELTS is required for all States, with at least a band score of 7 in all areas. . IMHO, it is perhaps faster and cheaper to process application without the help of any agency. By doing so, the applicant can also track down what's happening to his/her application. I suggest, if you have time try to read the posts from this thread as it is very informative. A bridging program is available only for overseas nurses whose first language is not english, and wishes to be employed in Australia. It is sort of an orientation to foreign nurses how nursing is practiced in their country. The bridging program also involves theoretical and clinical placement in a hospital.. It takes 3-6 months ( i think ) to finish this program, depending on the course provider... for me, taking the bridging program is better because it's way cheaper than studying again. :)

... so sorry to hear that why not try other parts of Australia who doesn't require experience like Queensland? I've read from this thread that they accept applicants even without experience.. cheer up! God has good plans for all of us and He's just probably waiting for the perfect time to come... hi marcelinho :)... i've known some people who were given an assessment letter by NMBWA to take the bridging course even with zero experience. However, it is the course providers who require applicants to have work experience. Like in Hollywood Private Hospital, they prefer those who have at least 1 year acute hospital experience and in DOH, a minimum of 2 years.. :)

hi MFVL .. you should apply for employment in any hospital when you do your bridging program so that when they hire you, they can sponsor you for a working visa, and wouldn't prompt you to leave australia anymore... Good luck :paw:

it took me almost a month because upon receiving my application form along with the required credentials, i was told by the client officer of NMBWA that i still needed to request the breakdown of my theoretical and clinical hours from my school.. My application was received around last week of March then i received the assessment letter just last april 29... :)

hi gail nope i don't have any place to stay yet during the bridging program as i am still waiting for HPH's response to my application. I was told that you can have a shared accomodation to lessen the expenses, if not, i already googled possible flats/apartments to rent in Perth and AU$100 -150 isn't all that bad to stay at.. Good luck in your ielts result. Be optimistic my dear.. HPH is accepting application for the bridging program till july 17 so there's still a lot of time for you to process your application By the way, are you processing your application on your own?..
