  1. Realized if you read through it there's some good info. about the interview on a previous thread: https://allnurses.com/graduate-nurse-forum/2009-rush-gem-352751.html
  2. gocubsgo, I also have an interview with Rush coming up! Maybe we will see each other there :) When Rush called to schedule the interview I tried to ask what sort of format to expect, but was told flatly that they could not answer that. Seems like an odd response. Did you hear anything more? I am curious what the presentation beforehand is all about... I hope it's not just a repeat of the information sessions they hold. I am surprised they didn't provide more info.
  3. I have to agree with Judr - thanks to everyone! What a process this has been. I can't imagine what it would have been like without the board. I hope recommendations are welcome at UIC, b/c I think people here may have a few for next time Good luck to everyone. Claredom, do you know who is the instructor for your A&P? I have taken both at HW (finishing up 227 now) and overall it's been pretty good.
  4. Me too! Yay! Congrats :) It's not really real yet, but still so exciting!
  5. I know, I did too! I haven't heard anything yet, but I'll post if I do.
  6. Thanks for the info! Waiting sucks, but at least I will waste less time hovering over my email for now It's weird that you have heard, weezbug, but others from bhs haven't (but maybe claredom is in bhs?) Hmm. I am with you on the Rush/DePaul vs. Loyola thing. The ABSN is probably more practical in a lot of ways. The generalist programs claim that you can streamline into a specialty from their program, and do it more quickly b/c you have some master's credits out of the way... but I am skeptical. Especially if you wanted to try to get your specialty at another school... they might not recognize some of the credits, for instance... so in my mind it isn't quite as flexible as they present it. But I guess they are just trying to sell their programs, and if you're prepared to stay at that school, maybe it is a reasonable option. Decisions, decisions....
  7. I applied to Adult NP and haven't heard anything. Hmmm. Try not to forget how competitive it is and how far you have come in the process ... And congrats to those that made it so far! Glad to hear others have good alternatives ahead of them too :) Good luck to everyone.
  8. I had an interview today and the faculty members in my group had no idea when the decisions would go out. They said they would submit their recommendations to the GEP program and that they make the final decisions and to check with Chris for further information. Good luck to everyone!
  9. Thanks again :) That's not too big of a group, so that's good. Has anyone gone to interviews for other nursing programs before? I wish this wasn't my first one. When I applied to grad. school for biology my first interview was with my most competitive program and while I still got in, the other interviews that followed were a lot easier having had the experience before.
  10. I hope not too! I get self conscious in interview situations as is, a crowd of spectators might just push me over the edge It annoys me too, because it really is irrational. Let's all just try to remember to be ourselves and I think we'll be fine. I think you run into problems when you try to reach to figure out what they want. It's also about what you want. You won't thrive in a program that doesn't want you for who you are. I'm in A&P II and an online Child Psychology class. I just realized that I actually have an A&P test after the interview! I am sorry to hear about the Research Methods, I feel you. I wish more schools offered it. I am not sure if I will need it or not. I talked to someone at UIC that said my biology research experience would probably exempt me from the requirement, but I haven't gotten a definitive answer on it.
  11. Ha, yeah :) I was debating with another girl in my anatomy class whether we should wear suits! I always think it's better to be over dressed than under, but then I always feel so silly when I am I will also have to start researching interview pointers, does anyone know what the format will be? or how many people are interviewed?
  12. I'm impressed that you stuck with tracking someone down! Thanks for that for sure :) I will hold my breath too.... hopefully we will see each other soon
  13. That sounds to me like we've all been holding our breath for nothing, frankly. Maybe I am just being pessimistic though. Thanks for the update!
  14. I do find it a bit mystifying why they would make a point of saying we would hear either way by today and then not doing it, nor giving an update. I wouldn't have held out hope quite as long had they not said that... ya know?
