How long did it take for you to get your authorization to test?

A friend of mine who works at University of Rochester Medical Center/Strong Hospital has a coworker who did the program. If you passed boards not really sure why it matters what program you did.

I emailed shortly after the two week deadline for those accepted to put down their deposit and was told I was not able to be moved off the waitlist as this time.

Gotcha - thanks. Puts me a bit at ease. I have been quite scared, for lack of a better word, due to things I have heard about the program. I'm just going to work hard, study, and go with it. *Fingers crossed* If you don't mind me asking, how many days a week are you "on campus"? I will be commuting from Rochester which is another thing I am dreading LOL - hoping for a relatively decent upcoming Winter!

Hey there - Thanks for sharing this info. I wish there was more activity from those out of Syracuse on this board. Anyway, can you elaborate on what you mean by "the program is fairer compared to the others"? How are clinicals going given COVID? The admission rep I am working with said things will be back to normal when I start at the end of August.

So I believe yesterday was the deadline for those offered a spot to pay their deposit as well as to confirm a place on the waitlist if you were waitlisted. I assume if any of the 15 who were accepted passed on their spot, those of us on the waitlist should be hearing something soon! *fingers crossed*

I received the email at 0840 today. Maybe check your junk folder?

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who is starting Utica (Syracuse location) in the Fall and will be commuting from the Rochester, NY area? If so, maybe we can take turns driving and commute together? ?

So basically those of us who applied in the Fall got screwed. Unreal.

Emailed last night at 1045 and received a response at 0839.

What is the point of even having a waitlist of 80?!?! 10 would more than suffice based on that info.

Thank you - it's just a bit scary because I have read nothing but poor reviews on the program (Utica College) but like you said, it's an option!

3 days before the start - that's nuts! I was accepted to a different program (though U of R is my #1 choice) and cannot wait that long so if I hear nothing within the next 3 weeks then I have to go with the other school.

I reached out to inquire my position the waitlist and how it's determined - I wanted a specific number as in am I near the top of this list of 80 or the bottom but I was not given that.

So I received this info via email this morning: "we received nearly 400 applications for this enrollment term, which led to highly qualified applicants not being able to receive an offer of admission. For this enrollment term we have about 80 students who have been placed on the waitlist and we will begin pulling students from our waitlist as seats become available. We will reach out to students who confirm their interest in remaining on the waitlist as seats become available. I expect to be able to give a more accurate update in the next 3 weeks." That is one hell of a waitlist ?

Waitlisted - wish they would have given us what number we are on the list ?

I sent an email to Allie in admissions asking a question about masters program and I got an email from someone else asking me if I was free to do a zoom to discuss the nursing programs. I responded asking if this is in addition to the zoom interview I already did as part of my app to the accelerated BSN. She responded and said, “I had received a message that you may have some questions. If you are all set that is fine. I can tell you that the decisions are very close to being ready to send out in the next week.”

I was told, "Our review period is typically 8-12 weeks following the deadline. We have made great strides during this application review period and are hoping to be able to send decisions around mid-May." So essentially we have another 3-4 weeks of waiting.

I just paid the deposit to hold my spot. As much as I hate to waste $150, my fingers are crossed I get into the other program! Though if I end up with Utica, I will be going into it with very low expectations so perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised LOL

CONGRATS! Like you, I am accepted but waiting on another school which is my preferred choice. If I am not accepted there then Utica it is. I want to be excited about Utica but I’ve not heard good things about this program. Basically you are teaching yourself and the instructors are not supportive or much help sums it up. Those I’ve spoken to say they don’t recommend it unless it’s the only option you have. My pre-reqs are at the 10 yr mark so I am limited and therefore in that “last resort” boat.
