well..the option is ones to choose. Iuon gives anyone the choice to either transfer to the U.S and do the NCLEX or the Caribbean Regional Exams. If one does not meet the Transfer GPA requirement then One can do the Caribbean Track then Do the CGFNS exams then the NCLEX. Either way, One get to choose from either Licensing Exams. You do not have to be a Caribbean/Commonwealth national/resident to take that exam and work in any of the commonwealth territories.

Check out the school's website about its accredication status. All i know is iuon is accredited and certified to offer both the ADN & BSN programs in the caribbean. I would not think that anyone would have any problem if one is transfering to the U.S through one of its Affiliated Colleges/Universities. All of Iuon's graduates who has transfered to its affiliates are working R.N's. There you go, that shouldn't be a problem. Again even to those students who are doing the Caribbean Track Exams they are also working either here in there caribbean or in Canada GooD luck!

USVI has been around, Iuon is the newer Kid on the block..So the teething pains and hurdles are still being ironed out. The decision is urs Futurenurse102. Am a returning Bsn 6th Semester Student. I will be in the May semester, doing the caribbean track exam. I have 3 semesters left to graduate with the Bsn. It may be alot more cheaper going to the USVI, plus its U.S accredited directly, and its in a U.S territory. Don't committ yet to any school until you do ur investigations. Feel free to listen to the critics from both sides of both colleges/university. Don't be to hesty in making that life changing decison. Any futher Ques direct them to me. Good luck!

With Every College/University theres alwyz good n bad to say..No one can escape tht..U jus have to make the best of it. Yes am I... Am Doin the BSN, but staying here to Do the caribbean Regional Licensing Boards..Am slated for tht exam April 1-2 2010.Similar to the NCLEX but with this License, One can practice in Any Bristish Commonwealth Country. Countries includes Canada to Austrialia. Once as i'v said u meet the U.S college Transfer Requirement you are automatically accepteD. One's GPA determines that. Listen am here..and am making good use of my time here..You make it what you want it to be. Nurisng school is very hard to get into..am jus happy that i got the opportunity too thru Iuon. Ackhil

Hey Amber; Am a sxith semester student..well am enterin the 6th semester this May...2 Ans ur Ques..I will try 2 do as so as best as I can. Well..Clinicals and placement depends on One's GPA. Once you have statisfied the transeferin GPA requirement gettin into any partner school is garanteed,so i do not have to apply like a New student..Applications will be made via Iuon because you will be a transfering partner School Student. 2. Crime is not a big issue on the island,but good scense should prevail. You wouldn't leave yourself vulnerable to become a target..would you?? Same as it wud be elsewhere...One need to use their common sense. 3. It is easier because its a new University, and there isn't a wait list. 4. As being in the caribbean, it warm,sumtimes hot, but theres pently places to go relax at the beach. 5. GEtting around may not be as difficult. Gettin ur own car may create more of an expense that one would think. BAre in mind tht tuition and the other exnpenses doesnt come cheap..Save more spend less... 6. Well Doin the BSN is more practical. 7. The class size varies. It could be small or medium in size...But u get eazi acess to faculty.. listen..i'v been there long enough to say that you gonna save more if u keep Ioun housing for 1 month or so..and then look for local housing..U will save much much more money... You may not need all this money that housing/room or boarding is estimating.When are u getting here?? I'v been here long enough.....

I do not want to personalize or individualize any response placed or posted here....But one needs to call a spade a spade when its seen. G Unit Nurse honestly I scense more to what you trying to say...but this forum is not a place to form personalized attacks, what ever it is you went through IUON has come a long way as in Any New college/university which is green on the block. The school has had its faults and some real screw up times, but all of this has a root, and problems, causes One to become better and more efficient. Iuon has graudated many students, through the assistance of its partner school Iuon have earned its respect amongst new colleges and vetrans alike. St.kitts for goodness sake is an island what did you expect? Its not a U.S Territory so ones clinical experience will not be as seen on T.V life in the E.R kind of drama. The community and people are very open and welcoming, where in the U.S one can exercise The Nurse-Patient relationship without feared of being Sued?? I'v learnt to embrace newer cultures and experinces for wat its called. I am returning to Iuon this coming Semester, anD i will be pursuing the Caribbean Track Regional Commonwealth Boards/ Exam slated for April 2010, so that I can pratise either in Canada or Austrialia where Iuon currently have graduates employed too. Anyone considering that exam you can pratise in any Bristish Commonwealth Territories or Countries. People....Potentiate Nurses..Iuon have the facilities, have well trainned and qualified faculty members to facilitate ones growth..Its you that have to make it work for you, as they say you can bring the donkey to the well but you can't forced it to Drink.!
