  1. congrats! I didn't get anything today if you don't mind me asking, which part of the island do you live on? Maybe my mail is slow...?
  2. I guess we can't escape halawa. Which one of these choices would you recommend?
  3. ooh thank god! I dunno how much longer I can wait.
  4. I'm not sure if its exactly longer, but the start and end dates of classes are usually different from the pre-set dates of the regular sessions. Sometimes summer extension classes will start during the spring semester... :stone
  5. I agree, but I guess the nursing school has it's reason (that we won't understand) I'm pretty sure PHARM has to be taken during your first semester if you're entering during the fall semester. Of course this makes no sense considering PHARM is only offered in the fall and conflicts with 330L. :[ nothing we can do but take it during the summer.
  6. You should consider taking PHARM in the summer if you want to do the class in person and through UH manoa. I think it's under summer extension and its taught by the same professors Dr. Read + Dr. Collier. They switch half way. Both are VERY knowledgeable, Dr. Read is strict and detailed, and Dr. Collier's lectures are more interesting and her tests are easier. I think PHARM was one the most interesting classes I've taken.
  7. I think he means that they just need to look over everyone records to make sure they don't have outstanding fees and whatnot. If the school of nursing has too cut down on the number of people it accepts because of budget cuts, i'm sure the admission panel would've been informed of the restrictions before they started accepting people. I dunno, this make more logical sense to me than accepting people then having to reject some. But I guess we'll never know! ah i'm nervous too, I check this board like every hour to see if anyone got notified. lol
  8. yep he said everyone that was rejected should've received notice. It's a good thing we haven't heard anything yet! Frow, don't worry, you have such a good GPA! I'm sure that's put you somewhere at the top.
  9. I heard it from my counselor, he didn't say how many people were accepted though. i really hope i get accepted but if i don't i'll probably get my bachelors in some science and maybe do the master's nursing program later. What about you?
  10. hey guys I heard that the school has picked all the students that they're going accept. It just needs to be finalized with the admission people or something. I'm guess we'll know sometime next week! :]
  11. wow thanks for the update! Do you think that means they're done reviewing cuz I mean, wouldn't they send all the results at once? I can't wait to find out!
  12. I came across this today. Thought it would bring some hope back. :] " Nursing: Recession-Proof Major? " http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=7294211
  13. Yea I talked to the admissions people too, they said we should hear something by the end of april or early may. They also said the admission process this semester was kinda intense, that's why we haven't received letters confirming they've gotten our app. I wish they would at least let us know they've received it though. :/ I'm kinda confused by the new admission requirements. By what I've seen, new applicants aren't required to take Chem 151/152?? They're listed as an elective and a DP... I'm very confused. At least apps are due a month earlier, then everyone will find out sooner.
  14. Hi guys! I applied for the fall 09 semester too. I haven't heard anything back yet though, so I'm a bit worried. I haven't even gotten a letter saying whether they've received my application or not. Anyone else hear anything? I think you guys have a pretty good chance of getting in. I've heard people getting in with relatively low GPAs. I think the more classes you've taken the better your chance because it'll give you a boost when they're adding up points. I don't think FSHN or STAT is taken into account tho because they're technically classes that are in the nursing curriculum when you get accepted. please let me know when you guys hear something
