I posted mostly because I was curious. I just finished my pediatric rotation and absolutely loved my heart kids ... my heart is in pediatric cardiology. I would only move that far away from home for a ped. cardiology position (I don't know if there even is a peds hospital in arizona with an entire unit devoted to cardiology). And another problem is Arizona is that it's hot there ... I am allergic to heat (no joke), I break out in hives really bad! So I don't think Arizona, or any other hot place would be the best place for me to move. I was just really curious because I had heard from so many people that Arizona needed so many nurses. SLJ

Hey guys I am a nursing student in Ohio with only 1 year left !!! I just finished my pediatric rotation and the congenital heart lecture intrigued me and everything really clicked. In clinical, I had the opportunity to care for 2 cardiology kids. I loved every minute of it!!! I was awesome. Anyway, I really want to specialize in cardiology and the children's hospital in Boston seems to have a very good cardiology department. I am considering applying there (I am also looking into Wisconsin, Philadelphia and Pittsburg, and Cleveland). Do any of you work at that hospital/unit?? Do you recommend the hospital as a new grad?? Do they hire new grads in the cardiology units?? What is the nurse-patient ratio? Pretty much, I would like to know anything and everything you guys think would be helpful to me making my desicion ... especially since I would be moving half way across the country and away from my family!! Thanks a bunch. SLJ

I am a nursing student in Ohio and this semester 2 different nursing instructors said to me "Go to Arizona! They need nurses so bad out there, espcially peds" They also said that the bonuses and wages were so much higher out there because the demand is so high. Just really curious ... is this true?? SLJ
