i am going into my second semester as a nursing major, and have also considered going to med school...my only qualm is do i really know the duty of a nurse? i love it so far, my classes and everything, but my uncle is in the hospital, and my mom has me asking the nurses at the nurses station for ice water for my uncle and evrything...is that the nurses job or the lpn/tech's job?? i guess i just feel like why am i struggling so hard at a competitive university only to be wiping the patients butt or fetching someone a glass of ice water ( not putting nursing down in the least, i love my major)...i just want reassurance.... thanks!

ciao a tutti! i am also italian american (half) =) i speak Italian, english, and spanish, so language is not an issue... and even though i am only going into my first year of college as a nursing student, i am hoping to one day move to italy...i was wondering what the salary is like for a "BSN" nurse as we call it here in the states, and just how hard the requirements for an american nurse to get a job in an italian hospital...i unfortunately do not yet have dual citizenship... i know this thread is old, i but i would appreciate if anyone had any advice =) grazie :]

I am very interested in this field too; im going into an undergrad nursing program next fall as well; i was wondering if it was still easy to get a job if you choose this specialty, even though it is "fast growing?"

oh goodness, sometimes i feel like I post the questions up myself, since i am constantly asking myself the same ones. I am a senior in high school now, and I actually applied to both, got into both, and got the same scholarship to both, where i would not be paying much to go to either schools. Does anyone know some inside info about the programs (im leaning more towards TCNJ), or about which program is better, or more intense? Do you go right into the nursing curriculum from the first semester? Thanks! :wink2:
