  1. Hello, Yes i applied on the usajobs.gov and cpolarmy.mil site. It has been a year since I applied and so far no response. I have applied possible three times throughout the year. A bit dissapointed and fustrated. I'm thinking of moving to Germany without a nursing job. Not sure what to do..
  2. I am moving to a city called Seckenheim. I am in the middle of Mannheim and Heidelberg. I don't mind traveling to Landhstuhl as well. Have you been to those areas?
  3. Hello everyone, I am planning to move to Germany in few months from Texas, and would like to know if anyone has information or insight about the military hospital facility/clinics in Germany. I have 2 years of experience on a 50 bed telemetry unit and is eager to find a job in Germany. Does any happen to know how difficult it is to find a RN position in a military hospital? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you
  4. Hi everyone !! Thank you everyone for your reply. LDRNmommy, I would like to find a position on a military base. I am looking for a position that is available in a hospital and or clinic. If you have any information or tips I would really appreciate your guidance. I did hear that it is difficult to find a position and the process is long. How do you like Germany?
  5. Hello Everyone, Does anyone out there have any insight regarding nursing opportunities in Germany. I am planning to move there and was wondering how difficult it is to apply for a job as civilian nurse in Europe. I Have almost a year of experience in a 50 bed telemetry unit. Any suggestions and opinions are welcomed. Thank you! Sharkasurf:)
  6. Hello, I am also from Hawaii relocating to Tyler! I accepted a position on the Telemetry unit at TMF and will be starting my orientation in August. Everyone is friendly there and I'm sure you will experience the same. By the way I think you know who Iam:)
  7. Hello Kittyfeet, Yes, I was offered a position at the main hospital in Tyler. I'm glad you found a job closer to home and it is nice to know that you heard positive comments about this hospital. Gosh, so much to think about, so far this is the first job offer I had since I graduated (Jan) and I moved to Texas. Thanks so much for replying, I have a few more days before I make decision. I hope to make the right one.
  8. Hello everyone, I just need some opinions from all of the nurses out there. I was offered a GN position with sign on bonuses at Trinity mother frances in the Tele and post surgical unit. I need to know if this facility will offer me the best residency training. Does anyone have any comments about this hospital, if so could you please share with me before I accept the position. I'm not sure if there are other hospitals in the city such as san antonio, dallas and austin that will offer me sign on bonus. Should I wait for other offers from the city and pass up my offer at Mother Frances? or take the offer?
  9. Hello everyone, I just received a phone call from a baylor recruiter and I am scheduled for a phone interview next week. This position is Trauma/General Surgey GN position? Does anyone have any tips or advice for a phone interview? I would also like to know if someone could possible tell me more about the work environment at Baylor. I am very nervous and want to find out more about the moving transition from Hawaii to Texas. If anyone could share their experience, I will definitly appreciate it!
  10. Thank you everyone for responding. I am planning on taking the kaplan again and I just purchased the Saunders book, so hopefully it will help. I agree Bebot, I should take my time in studying and not rush through it. I must say it is embarassing when your friends pass and you don't. I appreciate everyones advice and I am assuming this suzanne's plan is discontinued?
  11. Thank you for responding ! I did get a chance to review the questions and rationales but I quickly reviewed it because my test date was soon. I was falling behind in my question trainers as well. I also didn't get a chance to watch all of the videos in Kaplan. I think i need to start from the beginning and review before I do questions. I am able to retest in 45 days. I just hope that is enough time to retest. Maybe flash cards could help also.
  12. Hello I am new to this forum and I have been reading different forums concerning ncelx. I just found out I failed at 265 questions and received my results in the mail. I had nearly passing in all categories except for mental health which was above passing. I took kaplan and did all the questions trainers and about 100-150 questions a day. I was told to do questions and not content by my classmates. I guess you can say it didn't help me . Now, I'm in search of some kind of enlightenment. Could anyone give me some advice in tackling my second try? Should I purchase more books such as Saunders? or retake Kaplan? I'm not sure how to organize my studying.
