  1. JM229, I am going to do evenings. wonder if we're in classes together already? Ellis02136, thanks for the tip.
  2. I only got a B+, which was stressing me out because so many people told me that they look at A&P so heavily. At least the way that I have been hearing people talk, I was starting to think I was the only person whithout a 4.0! I guess you can't believe all that you hear.
  3. I am a certified middle school teacher, but I never worked as a teacher. I have worked in (mostly) records management, since graduation. Most recently, 8 years at a pharma company. I never wanted to be a nurse. My mom was a nurse when I was child, and it nearly gave her a breakdown. After a few years of thinking I wanted to be a librarian, I became very interested in fertility and childbirth. I have been trained to teach natural family planning, to be a doula, and to teach childbirth education. I decided a few years ago that I wanted to be a midwife, and decided nurse-midwifery was the path for me. I just got my acceptance letter to an ASN program at the local community college. I was able to transfer a lot of credit from my BS, but I wanted to be an English teacher, so I needed to take a lot of science. Now I have four semesters to my RN. I will be 35 in a few days. I've still have a BSN and a MSN until I will be a CNM. oh, and I have a a three year old and an almost two year old and I work full time.
  4. Got my letter today. I am in!
  5. i seriously hope they will do bigger day, eve, weekend. i'm already stressed about how competative it is, I really don't want to think about being up against a whole new batch of students. This is getting worse by the minute! Those letters cannot come fast enough!
  6. I just called again because the stress is killing me. I was told early December again, but I really hope pantalones is right!
  7. i'm just going to guess that Jmsica means that she scored in the 80's in all three sections.
  8. I got an 87 in math and an 84 in science on the TEAS, which I am pretty happy about, but my GPA is a 3.7, which is ok, but I am kicking myself for not doing better in A&P I. It was my first college in class in ten years, so I was a little rusty. I can't believe that it is taking them this long. They had our applications in August. They had to have looked them over before they got all of our TEAS scores. Why does it take them a month to decide? Especially becasue they only seem to be judging us on points. They don't do interviews, or letters of recomendation, or essays, or resumes or anthing!
  9. I called and the woman I spoke with said letter go out next month (December) and maybe the end of this month. Ugh! That is even longer than I thought. That really doesn't give people a lot of time to plan.
  10. Does anyone know when the Spring 2012 evening acceptance letters go out? Everyone had to take the TEAS in October, so I am assuming that the letters go out in November, but does anyone know how soon?
  11. What does it look like? Where do you go to school?
  12. Aww, that's too bad. I was hoping to get one at least so that I could have a protrait with it on just like my mom.
  13. Just curious, do nursing schools still have special caps associated with them? Does anyone know what the local caps looke like?
  14. I agree with not streessing about it if you are already in an ADN program, the hiring market could change in a couple of years anyway. But would you say that given the choice between an ADN and a 2nd BS, that the ADN is still the way to go? It seems like the ADN programs would be easier to complete for a working adult.
  15. I suppose with the economy the way that it is, the big hospitals can afford to be so picky. I am hoping to get a second bachelor's instead of an ADN anyway, but it seems like it is the hospitals that are missing out on tons of great candidates by making arbitrary rules like this.
