  1. Congrats to those who got in and good luck to those who are still waiting!
  2. I don't know if it is because I started in the summer or what, but we have tests just about everyday. We have at least 3 tests a week. They throw a lot of information at you in a short amount of time. You do have a lot of self-study. I pretty much expected it to be hard, and I had a few friends that had been through the program that told me what to expect. The best advice is to know your stuff! Validations are killer, especially the asepsis. I can't stress the math enough. Again, I will help with anything, just ask! Good luck!
  3. Hey guys!!! I am currently in the 1st semester at JS. Go ahead and get the Calculate with Confidence book and be learning the calculations. The math tests are hard and I saw a lot of people fail out of the program this 1st semester because they couldn't pass the math tests. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I will gladly answer any of them! Good luck to you all!
  4. I have the most wonderful husband! :redbeathe He bought me a Littman Classic II and a pair of NurseMate shoes the other day!
  5. I'm really sorry to hear that. I can't imagine what it is like to work so hard and get accepted only to have to turn it down. But, I'm sure that your 190 pts. will get you in this Fall. Good luck!
  6. You def. need to look into that. I called today about it. It has absolutely nothing to do with federal loans. Call ASAP. It never hurts to try!:)
  7. Lucy G Did you consider renting out your house? Where is it located?
  8. If y'all wanted to, we could have a get-together at my house. Kids and spouses are welcome, too. We could have drinks and get to know everyone.
  9. I'm in at Jefferson! YAY! I am so excited!
  10. The last I heard, yes, they should go out next week. It will be a long weekend. Every day next week I will stalk the mailman. I'm pretty sure he is ready for that letter to get here. He probably either thinks I'm crazy or that I have a MAJOR crush on him! LOL...he almost 70!
  11. Have fun on your cruise! No problem! If you follow the tutorial they are pretty simple.
  12. I am keeping my fingers (and toes:wink2:) crossed that we get the letters by the end of next week! Last time I talked to Ms. Johnson she said that they would go out next week (16th-22nd)! I REALLY want to know so I can be buying everything that I can without breaking the bank!
  13. I talked to a friend of mine who graduated from JS and she told me that it would be a good idea to start learning the dosing calculations! She gave me this website www.dosagehelp.com to help me! I tried it and it is really great! Y'all should try it! It kinda takes the edge off of waiting for the letter to come! LOL
  14. That sucks! Where did you here that?
  15. They should have assigned a temporary pre-nursing advisor so they could have gotten all of our applications processed and let us know something! I just checked the mail and had a letter from JS. It was a stupid letter letting me know when advising week was! Geez, they shouldn't do that to us! I was getting excited when I saw it!
  16. Hopefully, we will all get in!
  17. I started out at JSCC and graduated from here last spring with an associates in criminal justice. I went to UAB this past fall to get my BSN. Long story short, I have a husband and 2 kids and cannot do the clinical and class schedules that they have. Also, I hated the long drive EVERY day (I live in Springville). I later found out that I could be in and out of school a lot faster and get paid the same if I went to JS. So I was just wondering if you knew about it. But I am with you about the cost! UAB is ridiculously expensive! $100 just for a hang tag!
  18. I have a 194 with a 3.87 gpa. I feel good about it, but it's the not knowing for sure that is killing me! What do you have?
  19. I don't know about you guys, but I personally am sick of the waiting game!
  20. Magnolia, did you look into UAB's second degree program?
  21. Ms. Johnson was out on maternity leave until 2 days ago, but she's back now. I spoke with her today.
  22. Hey guys! I called Jeff State today and asked when we will receive our letters. She told me that it would be 2 more weeks. Just thought I would share with you guys. BTW, did anyone else on here apply for the Jefferson Campus?
  23. I too apllied for Summer 09. When I turned in my application, they told me that we should receive a letter around the end of Feb./beginning of March. Hopefully we will hear something in the next couple of days. My husband laughs at me because I have started "stalking" the mailman. LOL
