Hello fellow ABSNer's, I need help! How do you send a private message on this website? Am i that computer illiterate or does anyone else have this question? More importantly, my plan to commute to UM via Tri Rail has been foiled. They are cutting service by 30-50% in June. This means I need to find housing and find it fast! How do I go about this? Should I make several appointments? Should I drive around the area and look for something? Do you suggest any websites? This is much too overwhelming for me! Please give me some suggestions! Thank you

Hello.. I bought most of the books on-line last night. They were all between $30- $50. The bundle package is cheaper to buy seperate online. The only book I did not purchase is Fundamentals of Nursing 7E and the Skills CD to go with it. I'll prob buy it later today or tommorrow. Does anyone live in Broward or Palm Beach? Anyone want to car pool for the Orientation?

HI Jes, Did you apply for summer loan? YOu have to complete summer loan request on the Financial Aid website. Go to undergrads, forms, summer loan request. Hope it helps

Hey Jes Leigh, When did you recieve an email about the shoes? did they ask for anything else? Apparently I dont get emails or correspondence from UM. I always get my information from this blog. Will you please cut and paste what they asked for so I can keep up. I feel like I am not even a student at UM.. Does any one else have any list or emails of what we suppossed to be doing? Financial Aid status? Thanks!!!

Hey L'Infermiere.... Thanks for the info! Well I was not aware that I could qualify for stfford loan. You would think that this is something the reps in Financial Aid office would speak to you about.. The $23K would def help.

Hi BH! I think that is crap! (excuse my language) First off.... the website doesnt clarify any deadline dates. I spoke directly with Jude and he said we didnt have to do anything at all. If you read the webpage carefully, it says students were pre selected! and somewhere else I read, it is on a rolling basis. Some people were accepted in December! I just got my letter last week! I dont how all students got an equal chance to apply. And if only some were pre selected, then why announce it on the SONHS web page?? I am so frustrated because at this point, UM wants $500 to secure your clinical placement. However, because we alreayd have a bachelor, we are not eliglible for financial aid. (even though its full time and I never got one red cent in aid with my last bachelor) Then to ask for a summer loan, you need to be registered fro your classes.. Guess when UM registers you? During orientation but if your tuition is not paid for by Orientation, then you are out of luck! Am I the only person running into dead ends? I don't think I will attend Summer 1. and its a sorry realization. In all my research, everything seemed to make it so easy to get help for nursing school! Its harder to get aid than to get in!

Hi swimincatz, Have you gotten any notifications for immunizations? I have nothing.. i was told I need MMR to clear my hold, which I did. Now they say I have to pay a late fee. I havent been a student since 2000. Im just running in circles. i keep getting transferred. Dont know what to do

Hi Chi Chi... I know howthe waiting game feels.. I'm so sorry!!!!!!!! I hope u hear something back fast. I am not sure if they have a preference for prior graduates.. I have a feeling they do. Did you apply early admission (Dec 1)? Did you apply for Fall or Summer? If you applied for Fall, I don't think they have made those decisions yet Contact Yoli Quiles at UM.. she is in the registrar;s office. I had to keep calling to see if there was a hold on my application or if my application was complete. Another school had not sent my transcripts so my app was just sittting there. I think with Re Admission, the process is tricky because one hand doesnt talk to the other.. Call Yoli . She is super help ful! Good Luck!!!! Please keep me posted!

Hello All, You may have read my previous post from earlier today... but this is an update. I did get accepted to the Summer ABSN program! I am so excited. I currently work for one of the last standinf mortgage companies and have been doin that for the past 5 years. The reason I choose nursing is because someone very special to me passed away in Hospice 2 years ago.. and the journey to care for her in her final years, months, days and hours was incredible. not that her passing was incredible, but it did make me realize that I have a bigger purpose in life than to give people loans.. I have doing my pre reqs at night so I really feel like finally the sacrifice is starting to pay off!!! I cant wait to meet all you guys!! I will be commuting from Coral Springs and will most likely take advantage of the tri rail. Or car pool if any one else is up this way! I have not recieved anything in the mail yet but I know they have a hold b/c of my immunization records. I will prob start to research how to pay for school!!

Hi everyone! I don't know if I got accepted. Didnt recieve a letter, just an e-mail from Re admissions saying that I was accepted but I need to show them my immunizations record to complete my admission. I am completely in the dark. Where is this website that you guys are able to talk to each other on UM page? I will be commuting from Coral Springs.
