  1. Seriously? If you're looking to make money, I wouldn't suggest this career.
  2. You need to decide what you want to do with YOUR life. It's good that your dad takes an active interest in your well being, but any job is going to have its downsides. A CNA has alot more responsibilities than just wiping butts.
  3. I'm in MS and my teacher said some of her past students got jobs while they were still taking the course. So, I guess it just depends on you. I think alot of places will hire you before you actually get your certification.
  4. I'm in MS and I know some high schools offer the CNA program if you are also in Allied Health. The general age here is 16.
  5. Wow. The class I'm in costs $375. It's a 6 week course, 2 nights per week. I signed up through the local hospital, signed a contract, and they paid my tuition, plus pay me $8 an hour for attending class and clinicals. All I had to pay for were a set of scrubs, shoes, and stethoscope. Also, I will have to pay for the certification. As far as I know, the hospital doesn't require the certification, but other places do.
  6. I'm currently enrolled in a course and one of my instructors has been a CNA for about 12 years. She loves her work and had no desire to become a nurse.
  7. Has anyone taken these classes? Specifically the CNA course? It's a 6 week program and you have to go through a selection process...I think they only accept 5 students at a time. I'm just looking for a little input or any other information about the program. I'm scheduled to take the TABE test on the 19th.
