Halifax...Info Please
Sorry about my last post.....I re-read your post and saw that you stated that you are looking at purchasing a home and I wrote a reply talking about renting apartments, sorry about that. But the same thing still goes....Bedford and Sackville are great, and Clayton Park is awesome, but prices of homes are a bit more pricey in that area. Timberlea is about 20-25 mins away as well and a good area. Hope this helps !!!!

Halifax...Info Please
Hi there, I would actually shy away from both Fairview and the Windsor park area myself.....both areas are a bit cheaper to live in and close to the core, however not exactly the "greatest" areas to live in, but with that said, they aren't dangerous but are a bit "iffy" if you know what I mean If you are in the airforce, then I assume that you know the military housing is in Windsor park though but if you are looking to rent an apartment off base, then I would suggest you look in Clayton Park, it is close to Fairview but is a much better area and there is lots of apartments in the area and it is still close to the core of Halifax. Some parts of Fairview are ok, but you will be able to tell which areas are ok to live just by looking around the area. I would also stay away from the Spryfield area as there has been alot of crime in that area in recent years. Bedford is about 10 mins away and is a great area as well as Sackville which is about 20-25 mins away. I also wish to say welocme to Nova Scotia and hope you will love it here !!!

RPN/LPN/RNA all the same???
LPN's in Canada are not being phased out, it is actually the opposite. The LPN program here in Nova Scotia is now 2 years long and you graduate with a diploma. Hospitals are hiring more and more LPNs because we are able to use more skills now and we are cheaper to hire than the RN's. The gov't here in NS just gave more money to the PN program so they can have more graduates.

Scared Of Poop!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!
I think at first everyone is scared of that, I know I was.....but you know what, as with everything you build up a tolerance for it and it just becomes one of those things that you do and don't even think about....everyone poops, you included and it really is not as bad you imagine it in your head, don't get too scared cause you are building it up to be something horrible before you even get your hands in there so you already are assuming it is going to be awful so then when you do encounter it (and you will) you already have that negative thought in your head. Nurisng gets so medical sometimes that we all forget the basics are sometimes the most important.....
