  1. I totally understand your frustration...I am graduating this May, and have put in so many resumes its hard to keep count. Even the hospital I'm teching at is dealing with "hiring freeze" due to the economy. Everyone says there are tons of jobs out there BUT not for new grads UNLESS you're willing to work on the med/surg floor. I think I may have to lower my expectations and accept whatever position is offered just to get experience. Well, good luck to you and I really hope you find a job soon....
  2. "Re: New Grad ER jobsI will be graduating in May as well, I got a tech job in the ER. They have agreed to keep me on in the ER. It should not be hard to get on at any local hosp here in the NOLA in the ER since everyone is in desperate need of nurses here. Not sure if you are local or not...I do see you are from LSU though." ---I precepted at a hospital in the city and they invited me to apply to the ER, and have a phone interview Thursday. BUT i really wanted to move....i know beggars cant be choosers. Also, about three or four other people are applying to the same position... And, after doing some research, other cities are facing a trickle in hiring of new grads due to the economy... thanks for the posts all very helpful...
  3. thanks for your post, it really helps to know why I'm not recieving any "call backs" from unc-ch hospital system, or wake med. I thought, since I was an out of state grad, my chances were slim, but i guess its the economy... anyway..good luck with your interviews, im sure you'll do great..
  4. thanks for the help!
  5. If you dont mind sharing, where was your residency program. I live and go to school in New Orleans right now, but am willing to relocate...
  6. Graduating in May, how hard was it for you guys to find a job in the ER straight out of school?
  7. unfortunately no....I dont live in the DFW area. I currently live in New Orleans, and am thinking about moving to the area after graduation... I am looking online for job oppurtunities but not really coming up with anything...
  8. I was reading through the threads, and wondering what kind of job oppurtunity's are available for new grads in the DFW area. I am interested in the ER....
  9. Hi, I am a new grad thinking about relocating to NC....what is the nursing job market like in the triangle area (Raleigh/Durham, Chapel Hill, Durham)? Thanks
