  1. I am interested in going to Ameritech in Draper and would appreciate any feedback from students who are attending or have attended Ameritech's Nursing program!! Thanks so much!!
  2. Spouses or parents were invited to our orientation. My husband came to mine and it was very informative for him. They encouraged us to bring the people who were going to a major part of our support group, so they can learn what we will be doing and what is expected of us. There was one parent there, others brought spouses, some were alone. I was happy he was there to see where and what I will be doing for the next 2 years.
  3. I have IC as well, but I have not had anything else associated with it.
  4. My school is going to cost a bit more than that. But, I am 36 and I do not have the time to wait around a couple of years to be accepted into the community college program. My husband and I made the decision for me to go to this school and we feel good about it. My student loans do not cover all of the tuition and my monthly payment to the school is about $1,000 per month. We are making sacrifices for this to happen. We are selling our house and moving into my in-laws basement until I am done with school. Our house payment was $2,000 a month, so we will be saving that and that allows us to pay for the school. We feel like it will be worth it! Good Luck!
  5. Your story sounds very similar to mine. I just started Nursing School 3 weeks ago. I worked in accounting for almost 13 years (no degree, just on the job training) and was not happy. Well, due to the economy, I was laid off in January. I took a CNA class in February and was accepted into school for the spring quarter. I have 4 kids (16,14,9,4) and 2 step children (13,9) and a VERY supportive husband and family. I could not do it without financial aid and we are making huge sacrifices as well. I am so excited that at the age of 36 I am on the road to reaching my dream of becoming a nurse and nothing is going to stop me! Good luck to you and I hope you can make it happen!
  6. Hi! I am new to the site, I saw this post and loved it! I am 36 and have worked in accounting for about 14 years. I always wanted to be a nuse, but got married, had kids and was never able to go back to school. For the most part due to the fact that I was married to an unsupportive husband. I divorced him and am now married to the most wonderful and supportive man! I made the decision to go back to school in January, planned on working while doing that, but was laid off at the end of January. So, we decided that if I was going to go back and do this, I would not get another job. I applied to school and just got the call on Friday that I was accepted! I start on April 6! I can't wait and I still can't believe that I am actually getting the chance to follow my dream! Good luck to you!
