Preparing for Nursing at Azusa Pacific, CA
OK. I am going to be taking them at Grossmont as well. What classes do you think I should start with or if I take 2, which ones should I take together? I have to take Bio 140 Anatomy; Bio 141/142 Physiology; (I'm confused on this one) Chem 116 on the paperwork from Azusa shows it is Bio Chem & Organic Chem, are they one class?; Bio 152 General Micro; Psyc 120 & 150 (which I am fine w/taking, I was a sociology major. So what you think will be good together or to take 1st? I am really scared to take these and have even thought of going to vocational school and doing my LVN, but then I won't have a bs in nursing and as many open doors, but then it won't be as crazy as RN. ANy help would help! Thanks again so much for your help, this gets confusing. :bowingpur

LVN or RN? Help!
Thanks, that was a lot of great info. Yes I am scared about the sciences, it's been a while. I am scared I am going to make the wrong decision or get into the RN program and be like wow I can't handle this, I should have done the LVN program. How was a&p and mirco bio and chem? Were they doable? Yeah if I was single too I would do RN, but w/family and my son and us wanting to have another child, prob the lVN would be best and maybe in 10 yrs I can move on up. Are you currently an LVN? If so are jobs limited to ltc or is hospitals an option or other places options?

Preparing for Nursing at Azusa Pacific, CA
Thanks for your help! Yeah I just called them and have an appt to go over what pre reqs I have already completed. I see that I need to do 5 or 6 pre reqs. But they said to apply 1st then do them. I am just concerned about having a baby, etc. Should I wait, etc. I'm a lil frightened about the chem courses and the anatomy courses. But I think if I do do 1 or 2 a semester I will be able to focus on them and not get too overwhelmed and just focus on those hard courses. Yeah it's great for us who do hold ba's or bs's because if we did go to the cc we would only have an aa or just a certificate. Thanks again it has givin me many things to think about!

My Year of Lpn School
Hey ladies who are in the program, just wondering if you guys have been to college b4? I'm freakin out a lil bit by the things that are being said here. I have my BA so I know school is stressful, especially since I was a single mom at the time. I know it's fast and everything, but is it like regular college, or even more crazy?? Please help so I know I will be able to handle this. Also, is everyone in cc or any vocational schools? (im in CA)

LVN or RN? Help!
Hello, I am new to the nursing world. I have a BA and was just considering to get into an LVN program since my hubby doesn't necessarily want me working so much, etc. But I feel that if I get into being an LVN I will be limited in what I want to do in the medical field. So here is what's going on. I have a 9 yr old, been married 2 1/2 yrs, my hubby wants to have a kid, but I wanna hold off cuz I wanna do nursing. Should I do an RN program and do a bunch of pre-reqs and it will pay off in the end, or should I just go into an LVN program and somewhat settle? I am scared out of my mind about the RN cuz I know it is huge and the state license test is way longer than LVN, but I am willing to work super hard on it, or should I just do the LVN w/no pre-reqs and get it over with to focus on having kids, but maybe getting stuck in a field that is limited? Can you do pre-reqs like @ Azusa Pacific or National of Univ of Phoenix to get them done sooner? Please help, thanks!

Preparing for Nursing at Azusa Pacific, CA
Hello, I was wondering about the EENAP course. I just found out about it today and am upset that it's Sunday and can't call the scbhool to find out info. But just wondering, can you do the pre-reqs @ Azusa? Or do you have to go to the cc for that? I guess I am trying to speed things up because I am gonna be 30 this year, already have a 9 yr old, my hubby I have been married to for 2 1/2 yrs wants to have a baby and I wanna wait till I am done w/school. Any suggestions and/or answers to my other questions?' Thanks, I am new on here and find it so helpful!!:redbeathe
