wait listed at vcu CRNA
I'm feeling your pain with the wait/alternate list. I was 3rd on a list of 6 as of Oct and I'm now 1st. I feel like I'm hanging on the edge by my fingernails and dread the thought of the reapplication process next fall if it doesnt work out and I was so close:) I keep telling myself anything can happen but the wondering is hard!

Interviews
I interviewed there last year and did not get accepted. Reapplied this year after taking a grad class getting an A and didn't even get an interview. Go figure? Good luck the interview consisted of a tour, short quiz, video and panel interview. Good Luck. Did you apply anywhere else??? Rnkltym

Interview last yr and denied this year
Thanks for the encouragement as I am getting really down about it and need some positive encouragement. It is just frustrating when I know they offered a position to someone with a lower GPA and MAT score but as many have said many factors play into the process and the competition is tuff. RNKLTYM

Interview last yr and denied this year
I am still in shock. I received a letter yesterday that I did not get an interview from a school that interviewed me last year. I have taken a graduate course and got an A and I am currently enrolled in class. I have returned to ICU to update my skills and my undergrad GPA is 3.8. How did I get less qualified in the last year?

Interviews
I agree sometimes you can drive yourself crazy trying to prepare. I had my interview last week and one of the recent graduate let out a sigh of ?disgust? at one of my answers. Talk about flustering me I couldn't believe that she did that. Where are you interviewing at futuregasman?

Correct answer to interview question
Thanks Jim, I thought I had a reasonable answer showing I was flexible and able to change gears quickly but didn't want to hold up progress so I would choose to inquire and learn why he changed the plan after the case was complete. Thanks for responding.

Correct answer to interview question
My response was I would proceed as the Anesthesiologist wished and after the case inquire on why he changed the plan of care and try and learn from the experience.

Interview Sat Oct 2 at SIUE, weird that it is on a Saturday. Wish me luck!

Correct answer to interview question
I was asked in an interview something to this effect. If you had researched and designed a plan for an assigned patient the night before and the next day the Anestheisologist told you that he wanted to approach the plan for anesthesia completely different from your plan what would you do? Not exactly the wording but you get the idea and I just wonder if my answer was in the ballpark?

SIUE program
Can anyone give any insight as to how many applicants vs interview? I am also wondering how many slots they have open for each year? If anyone has any experience with their interview process or program I would love to hear it. Thanks, RNKLTYM

goal statement
Can anyone give me an idea what the schools are looking for in a goal statement? How long is adequate? Thanks, MJ

Rejection Letter
Just received my rejection letter from the only place I applied. How disappointing, I guess I'm looking for some suggestions as to where to go from here? Is it appropriate to contact the school and ask about my weaknesses and how I can make myself a more competitive applicant next year? I have also registered as a grad student at large for a spring class and I'm now wondering if I should take the class which is part of their program or just take some more general grad level science courses?

SIU-E CRNA program
Can anyone advise on what the program at SIUE is like? how the interview process goes, the number of applicants compared to the number of students accepted ect. Thanks MJ

help please
Gooser, I know what you mean. The week or so after my interview I analyzed it forward and back. I could think of nothing else but how I could have responded better and it about drove me nuts. I have decided that I did my best. I know what to expect next time if I get a rejection letter. I have also decided to apply as a grad student at large and show them what I can do. FOR Mommy0f2grls, How do you think the programs will view you not having worked for the last year? Just curious.
