  1. THANKS FOR THE INPUT-----IT IS FRUSTRATING-----PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS INVOLVED IN BEING A NURSE IN A SCHOOL!!!THANKS FOR THE REPLIES!!!!!:redbeathe
  2. I am only 2 weeks into being the nurse at a middle school-----and I cannot believe how many parents change numbers and don't let the school know...... What do other nurses do? Not quite trusting these kids to give me a phone number----but if I need to call them to tell them about an injury or pick their child up----it is a dilemma-------how do other nurses handle it?
  3. What do you do when a teacher comes to the clinic and asks for tylenol? I know that under my license I am unable to dispense meds without a Doctor order-----do you just lay the tylenol on the counter? thanks
  4. thanks for the info...please-let me know how you like your job---keep us posted....
  5. Regarding Vitas---I live in Ohio and saw an ad for on call LPN position=but they are asking for some home health or hospice experience-how does one even get a job working for hospice or home care if they do not have these experiences? and what is an on call lpn?
  6. Hi Read your post---have been thinking of going into hospice. I am an LPN and was wondering what continuous care is all about? Is it one on one for 12 hours? Thanks.
  7. Very nicely put-----i too am happy being who i am----if i had wanted to go back to school-i would have. I have seen excellent nurses, and some nurses who should not even call themselves a nurse---we all contribute to the process.
  8. I worked in an assisted living facility and probably g0t 16 hours orientation and then was thrown to the wolves------my first night alone everything that could go wrong=did. I ended up staying there prn -about 16 hours every two weeks----stayed there about 1 1/2 years then left because of the management........i can understand how overwhelmed you are-i for one will never work ltc or assisted living---the med pass alone is an impossible task in the time frame that the state mandates-what a joke.....if you ask me=every nurse is asking for med errors!
  9. So, how did the interview go? the tests? what were they like------I live in ohio am seriously considering home care peds.......any info would help
  10. thanks for taking the time to read and respond.....resumes are out...just waiting....thanks again.
  11. thank you for the input....have sent out some resumes.....will update when I get something
  12. I desperately need to find a job. I have 14 years experience in a hospital, assisted living and occupational health. I cannot even think about LTC or hospital nursing ever again!!!!! I want to try Home Health visits-but I am both confused as to what company to go to and if I could do this. Please-anyone in the Greater Cleveland area please, please help me out. thank you so much
