You are correct in thinking that the accelerated program is only offered in the night time a weekends and they finish in less than 2 years. The other option is to start in the day program (traditonal program as it is referred to on campus) and finish up in 2.5 years but you will have your weekends and night time, which is quite a sacrifice. You should get a full winter break which is like a month or so in accelerated. They will give you some reading assignments to do over break but its a much needed break. Some of the breaks are different in accelerated like you don't get fall break which is the one they started to reduce stress in the student population. Go figure right! :-) The nice thing about the program is that every 4 to 8 weeks you switch up your classes depending on your schedule that term. You usually get a 3-4 day weekend off when you switch your classes, not always but a good amount of the time. It is much appreciated. Hope that helps.

I am in the accelerated track at Lewis and I have to say I would recommend it to others. If you are going to start in the Fall your toughest semester is going to be the following summer. You will be taking the heaviest course load then and the classes will be further compressed as well since it is the summer. Don't forget if you can't say goodbye to your weekends, you belong in the day program not the night program. Though some students do work while in the program it is not encouraged. Some cohorts have a really high attrition rate and then some cohorts almost all who start out make it thorough the program. It just kind of depends on the caliber of the students. I will tell you that nursing school will demand more out of you than you think, and is not for the faint of heart. But the light at the end of the tunnel is there. A job that pays the highest for a bachelor's prepared student than any other job and stability of always knowing you can find employment.
