PASSED AANP FNP
Sally 1977 I attended an APEA review course, listened to the fitzgerald cd's and used her test/review books. Found that to be more than adequate. The test taking skills that were provided through APEA and Fitzgerald really actually helped a lot. The AANP test was straight forward and clinical. Only had one ethical type of question that surrounded patient right's to be treated while a minor. Make sure you know your 1st,2nd,3rd line ABX and when to switch to ear. When you take the test and you don;t know the answer flag it and come back at the end. If the question does not make sense or you cannot figure it out then read it out loud if no-one else is in there testing. I found my self adding words to questions when they were not really there. Also if a questions really has no answers that make sense remember that there are several ""test" test questions on there that do not count.

Pocket PC, Palm, Blackberry, (which to purchase?)
I used a Dell Axim v51 and still do today. Love it. It's a pocket pc and while it's not being made anymore, it's still faster than most pocketpc's out there.

Testing tommorrow and terrified of failure
Okay...I'm certain many have went through this, but I'm testing aanp for my FNP at high noon tommorrow and i'm terrified. I maintained a 4.0 in school, went to a review course, bought the Fitzgerald cd's and listen and studied off an on for about 2 months with the last week or 4-6 hours a day. Yet I sit here tonight terrified I don't have a grasp on this? I'm sitting here reviewing my peds section again and worried sick about forgetting what i've learned in the cardiac section...or whta antibiotic to use where.... I thought about rescheduling my test time last week, but my preceptor from school said "just do it"! Am I turning a molehill into a mountain here? Anyone on thoughts about how hard the AANP exam is? How much prep is enough? any thoughts, prayers??

ANCC or AANP...need an update
Hello, I just recenlty graduated from my FNP program, and I am a little undecided on what test to take. My future employer has paid for me to take the AANP and the ANCC test. This week I got lettersfrom both that i',m eligable to test. I know there has been some postings in the past about which test to take, but I was interested to see if anyone had any new thoughts on the test. I am usually a pretty calm person who has worked for as a Paramedic, CABG-ICU nurse and ER nurse, but I am experiencing a great deal of apprehension about these tests. Any thoughts, comments, or help? Is one test really easier than the other? thanks:uhoh3:
