  3. Hey, I would like to get some advise on this NCLEX test please. First off this is my third attempt and I am feeling overwhelmed. I was told by the State Board of Nevada that If I fail this time I will be required to go back to school. I really don't want to go back to school. I could use all the advise I could get. I graduated from nursing school may 08 and right after graduation I attended the Kaplan workshop. The last day of the workshop the instructor said just take the test as soon as you can and do questions everyday till test day. He told me my content knowledge was good and I just need to practice NCLEX type questions. I have to be honest I was not as faithful as I should have been answering the questions. I felt pretty confident I would pass the test and didn't get all worked up about it. During nursing school I was a pretty good student. I got A's and B's through the entire program. So I went into that first attempt with a false sense of confidence. It was very upsetting when I found I failed. I answered 82 questions and it cut off. A few days later I found out I have failed. The next attempt was not until that following September. I had three months of on line questions left from the Kaplan course so I began to answer questions everyday like I should have in the first place. One month before the test I ran out of time on Kaplan. So I started answering questions on my PDA during my breaks at work. When It came time for the test I didn't have that confidence I had the first time. I just wanted to take my time and try my best. That test I used the entire 6 hours and the computer didn't stop. I answered the entire 265 questions. Again I failed. I felt terrible and I was lost not sure what to do. After that I took a break from studying and started to rethink my strategy. During that time I found this website and I started to read about Suzanne's Plan. I was excited and I had to write a letter to the State Board telling them my future plan to pass the test. Suzanne's Plan sounded like this will be it. So I took a break from any studying till after the holidays last year. Around January I started to work the first step to Suzanne's Plan. The first step took a lot longer then I thought it would cause I ended up reading about 98% of the Saunder's book. When I finally finished the first step it was too late Suzanne (bless her heart) had retired from her Plan. So here I am with permission to test. I am scared and I want to pass this test and get it behind me so I can finally begin my career as a nurse. MY question is should I retry Kaplan and be true to the course and follow like I should have the first time. Or is there other courses out there to take. I Don't want to schedule my test till I feel real good about it. So please any advise would be greatly appreciated. I have read Saunders, Kaplan, Incredibly Easy NCLEX books. Thank you so much in Advance Drew
  4. i also failed twice and now i am currently working through the first tip of suzanne's plan. i am just following it down to a tea. i want to have my confidence back. when i first tried the nclex it was after a week of kaplan workshop classes and about a month of answering nclex questions from the q'bank. i felt good and the kaplan instructor said just to answer questions till its time for the test. it stopped at 75 questions and i failed. i had to wait a couple months before i could take it again. this time i just did my own studying from my nursing school notes and books. i still had some time on the q'bank so i utilized that too. that time the test went 265 questions and again i failed. i then took a break until after the holiday's. i half way through the first tip and i am determined to pass this test this time. i wish you all luck and with suzanne's help we can get on with our careers. drew
  5. St Rose Hospital's are some of the finest hospitals in Vegas. I did the majority of my clinical in St Rose hospitals. San Martin is the one I especially enjoyed working at. I did my preceptor in the ED there. Times are tough here in Vegas the economy has hit us pretty hard. I have lived here all my life and I prefer the Northwest side of town. I am currently living in the Centennial Hills area. One positive side to the declining economy is that in Vegas the housing is at record lows. You can get a really nice house here for a low price. Good luck to you and hope you are able to join us in sunny Las Vegas. Drew
  6. Hey a friend of mine has told me that If you take the NCLEX in California you can practice nursing in all fifty states. If that is true can I make an appointment in nearby California city and not be a California resident? Drew
