I don't know if you can move or not but if you have your pre courses finished you may want to look into moving to get in. I'm in the Quad Cities (Rock Island, Bettendorf, Davenport,etc) and we have 4-5 nursing colleges withing 15 miles of each other. In this economy the goal is to get in and get done as soon as possible. I will tell you when I went to school 2002-04 my school had a ton of funding if you are need based. I realize this may not be possible for some but a friend of mine was in the same situation 2 yrs ago in iowa (she had a 4.0gpa). She eventually started applying everywhere to multiple states because they said she would be placed on a 2yr wait list in IA. Finally she got in to a Illinois school w/in a year. Just a thought. good luck.

Not only rounding every hour but our Dr's must have "contact" with each Pt within 10min of being typed into the system. Our hospital typically sees 40-50,000 a year and the staffing and the situations presented affect our rounding times but as one person posted -management has no clue and doesn't really give a dang as long as our "scores" are acceptable.

Right now I'm in 19F and hating the midwest (USA-Iowa). How about you? How are the hours and jobs in Canada? Our hours are getting cut more and more each week so I'm wondering how Oz is doing with their jobs. I'm thinking about using Healthstaff Recruitment. Vlad, I'm looking to head to Oz also with the family . What is your draw to Brisbane? Any web sites that you've come across that may help deciding what city to head to? I'm trying to find ED positions in QLD but was advised by agency to go to Perth. Are you using an agency or going on your own? Steve
