Nclex-rn audio or dvd study guide
I found most of my audio CDs extremely helpful. The audio on lab values and renal failure were excellent for example. I utilized them on my 1 hour drive to school once a week. I also used Saunder's book and studied everyday for about 1 month. CK

NCLEX next week( need help)
Hello, My advice would be to change your NCLEX date and take a month to study. In one week there isn't enough time to focus on areas where one might be weak. IMHO CJ

UNH Direct Entry Program
I am in the DEMN program at UNH and by the time we had our maternity rotation we had at least 700 hours of patient experience. I know many of my classmates have passed the NCLEX with no trouble at all (including myself). We are the "guinea pigs" and at times this is difficult. On some occassions the "rules of the game" have been changed on us. In addition, the 8 week classes are brutal. For some classes the 8 weeks works out great, but for other classes such as research, we need at least a 16 week course.

Nursing without the "yukkies".
If you've ever been a patient inadvertently producing the "yuckies" you'll understand how important it is as a nurse to maintain composure & show compassion. It is terribly embarrassing as a patient to be in this situation. As a direct result of being near death, and almost having a "yuckie" experience, I decided while in the hospital that I wanted to be a nurse. The incredible nurses gave me top-notch professional care and showed me dignity in my utmost undignified time. It changed my life. This happed to me a year ago and now I'm applying to nursing school in New Hampshire. Please, for the patient's sake, don't make a big deal out of "yuckies". Carissa
