  1. The KCI wedsite has a link to 10 free CEU's available. http://www.kciceproviderunit.com
  2. Making a bridge is easy, after draping the periwound area with the clear drape, then place a piece of the foam on the wound area and cover with drape. Then make sure you cut a opening at least the size of a quarter, protect the area adjacent to the wound with the drape (drape must protect any intact skin) and cut a strip of the foam to make the bridge. make sure you have the strip of foam covering the quarter size opening so that both pieces of foam will touch, then cover the strip with another piece of drape and make another opening the size of a quarter to place the track pad over that. The width of the strip you use for the bridge should be wide as the diameter of the track pad.
  3. Slough tissue is non-viable tissue, it's the stuff that is not going to heal.
  4. have you called the KCI 1-800 number? they have tech support that are available 24/7 to assist if it could be a problem with the unit. Also they have a team of Nurses that are available to consult with the field reps if needed. i would think that since white foam is being used the pressure setting should be increased. It can be increased all the way to 200mmhg if needed.
  5. It has been more than a month since you first asked advice on this wound what is the current assessment of the wound now?
  6. What kind of supplements? Protein? What is the albumin level?
  7. curious as to what happened with this patient's wound. couple of things come to mind with considering reasons for a wound not progressing, nutrition one... having labs drawn to check an albumin level......this can give you a picture of the patient's protein status......before starting antibiotic therapy getting a culture of the wound and running a sensitivity to ensure the right drug is fighting the infection..........and if a patient is not turned and repositioned it only takes a short amount of time before pressure can cause a lot of damage.......
  8. Would like to have a copy also, is there a way to attach a file to your posting?
