  1. Congrats! I was hoping for my daughter. She got in the 80's on her HESI and a B in science, I hope she is borderline. Could you please or someone share their portfolio grades. She is so disappoitd and thinking about changing major. Thanks for any info!
  2. Congrats! My daughter did not get accepted. Do you mind telling me your Hesi scores and Science grade. I thought for sure she would get in. Hopefully, she is borderline and may get a call? How long do they give you for confirmation?....Thanks and best of luck!!!!!
  3. Thank you for the information and hopefully she will be accepted into 1 RN program. She has applied to GCC and CCC. Have you heard of the these colleges and their programs. She is a senior in high school now and we are looking in to all options. I thought for a back up she could apply to the local vocational school and adult educaation program. There is always the bridge to RN. What I understand the bridge or challenge eliminates 1 semester foo the RN. Did you go get your RN. That is terrible at Lincoln Tech! $$ I think the local votec is 6 with books and uniform tops. Thanks again!
  4. Was the program expensive? My daughter may need your name. Could you please tell me more about admission test, program lenght, where you did clinicals, etc. Thanks for any info.
  5. Are you a LPN or RN? There is a Nurse refresher in Rosehayne,NJ starting Feb. It is a vocational school and the cost is 1200. 32 classes 4to 9pm T&R thru May.
  6. How did your refresher go? I'm looking for a refresher class in nj. Where did you go? Thanks
  7. Thanks for your suggestions! I like your cat too! Do you mind if I ask where you are from perhaps it is near my area that I could apply at some LTC facilities. Confidence was the problem when I graduated years ago. I felt like I did not know enough and back than I was told the pt load was 60. I had a hard enough time with two patients back in achool.
  8. Generally they are offered at vocational schools. Yes I can do class labs but I would still have to pay the full tuitiion but I could not go to the clinical sites. I really don't understand why I could not just because I have a license already I am told. I know LPN's returning to RN school can do clinicals. The head of the program doesn't understand why I can't get a job but she supposedly will let me know if she finds one for me. I did very well in school and I was accepted to a RN program but I would be happy just passing out medications and doing treatments having more patient interations.
  9. I applied at 2 state facilities (veterans home, mental institution and a local hospital in southern nj. Where are you located? I would feel better taking the class over but it is the clinical I think I would benefit the most from. I guess I could try the refresher again an hope I get more experience a a better insructor. How many patients do you have, I'm afraid if too many I couldn't keep up. thanks
  10. I went to school twenty years ago for my LPN. I have kept my license up but have not worked in the nursing field. I want to get a job but with no experience I can't get hired. So many things have changed that I feel I need to go back to school. I took a refresher course 2 years ago but it was not enough. I applied to a LPN school and was told that I could not go to clinicals because I was already licensed. I never heard of that before. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks for any help......Opal
