Where are you in NJ? south? north?.... I'm planning on taking a prep course for the NCLEX since I need to take it due to an inactive license of 13 years. I'd love to share info since I, like you, have gotten incorrect info from the NJ state board of nsg.

I would love to know what you have found out. I have not worked for almost 14 years and am having to take the NCLEX again here in NJ as well. I was looking at Lady of Lourdes for the Kaplan course they offer there.

Thanks for the reply...I received, from the Board of Nsg of NJ, a very short list of approved refresher courses. The "in person" courses are all in Central Jersey, much too far for me. I will have to take an online course. It's going to be a lesson in self-discipline for me but I plan on beginning this spring. The hard part will probably be finding a clinical site for the practical part of the course.

Hi, I'm looking for an accredited refresher course in NJ. I did find one offered at Somerset Med. Center but I live in southern NJ. I've not practiced since the birth of our first son and am needing to re-instate my license which obviously requires a refresher course. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been out of nursing since the birth of our first son. Now, after 13 years, I'm looking into returning. I live in NJ and have a large re-instatement fee and must find a refresher course. I can't seem to find one close by our home. I've looked into online courses but am leary about finding a clinical situation and preceptor on my own. Has anyone ever done this? Any advice? Help!
