patients who think that nurses should become doctors too
Definitely .. definitely not. And just in a general scape and looking at the big picture of things: it doesn't matter WHAT job you have or what profession you hold. So long as you love your job and what you do it doesn't matter what money you make or what title you carry. So I would have to agree with you there, friend. *Michael. PS. I would never consider becoming a doctor. I couldnt' possibly dream of paying back the loans they have in the end, ha!

Nursing Home or Hospital?
Gee! Thanks guys for everyone's input. Everyday I log in and check to see what posts have been made and if I've posted something .. I see if there's a reply. Thanks so much for all your advice and information! :) And thank you for that warning of advice purplemania. I really do appreciate it. And I have already considered what you said. :) I will definitely NOT do what I thought would be okay, heh. (Honestly, I didn't know that that was a bad idea. ). So thanks guys! *Michael. PS. I'll make a totally different post on this last note so that everyone who's seen me post and who's given me the wonderful advise they've given me .. can know .. but I will be re-registering and switching screen names as of tomorrow (I'm hoping). I'm switching to the screen name of "coffeejavule." So everyone will know who I am. :) "freeshot" used to be my online gaming name but I have had to retire and leave from all my teams and games .. and completely concentrate on "real life" stuff, hehe. I just couldn't think of a unique nick .. so I used "fr33shot" while I was thinking. :) Thanks guys, again!!

What do you think of chiropractors?
Two things: BluEyes, if you're married to an active duty military soldier you are covered. I don't care what anyone tells you. Maybe you should check into that again before giving up. I don't know who's lied to you or told you something different. My father spent 23 years in the military. Anything he was granted we were done the same. Advantages, insurance coverage, privileges, etc ... That is, unless he's NG or Reserve. Then, you would be rowing a totally different boat all together, heh. In that boat you'd be correct, he would be the only covered. That's the disadvantage of be in the NG or Reserves. Secondly, is it possible to get some kind of certification or whatnot to be a chiropractor and still be a nurse? Like .. once I finish my CNA could is there a class or something I could pick up and take to let me be able to do that? That'd be awesome! :) *Michael.

Nursing Home or Hospital?
Thanks so much, lanie! Yes, it's good to know someone's feelin' me out there. :) That's encouraging, heh. Fortunately, I have no children so my schedule is wide open. I don't think I'd have a problem with working nights and then going to school in the morning. Someone advised against going to school right after work because it makes it hard. I realize this but, I've also done this before. :) I spent a year and a half at Business college here where I'm at and I went there immediately after work five days a week. I'm pretty sure I can do it. *Michael.

Nursing Home or Hospital?
Understood hogan. :) Understood. Thank you very much. The reason I believe I have always (ever since I got serious about this Nursing career) leaned more toward Nursing Homes and LTC Facility work environments is because I love people. I love to get to know people. I love to help people. Sometime I swear .. I SWEAR my purpose of being on Earth (and everyone has their own, I believe) is to simply help as many people and touch as many lives as I possibly can during my time here. I swear, it .. I know, I'm a freak-o, heh. Ha! I think a Nursing Home (again, imho) is something I'd absolutely fall in love with because I would have the satisfaction of knowing that those who (most at least) have been "dumped" in an LTC facility by their families and abondoned (imo) are the ones I will directly affect. I will get to interact with them and in their lives. I will get to help them out .. and be there for them .. and that's all they really want to carry on with life, ya know? .. or maybe I have it all confused and I'm wacked out, heh. Anyways .. this is my reasoning. I just wanna make sure I'm making a good career decision too, heh. (Besides, I've heard - maybe I'm wrong - that you make more money in a Nursing Home.) ... *Michael.

Nurses marrying doctors
Hehe .. funny. Oh hark, do I sense a tad whisper of sarcasm?

Nurses marrying doctors
Dude .. I swear to God .. this individual (Cqc_Cqb) either has no frickin' brains whatsoever .. or he's just good at starting serious issues with people. Maybe he likes to see how many people he can rile (spelling?) up on the internet? .. Why the HELL would you even START to think (MORE LESS accuse) female nurses of going into the field to find their man? You're an idiot, dude. Sorry, so true. This is the second post I've had to reply to of yours that absolutely insane. Oh, and if I were a lady (nurse or not, but a lady PERIOD) .. I would have found this VERY disturbing. Hell, I'm a GUY and I find it degrading. Imagine the poor ladies viewing this (who by the way in case you didn't know moron .. make up the majority of the Nursing profession in the WORLD). *Michael. I think I'll say a little prayer about - I mean for you .. tonight.

Fair to My son?
What's wrong with him going to a day care at the age of nine, dcoffee? If he were one or two or even three .. alright, different story. But you've had those years to spend with him and nurture (spelling?) him and help him grow. At this point, I personally see nothing at ALL wrong with having him go to a sitter/day care, whatsoever. I'm sure it's natural to feel bad at first .. BUT .. look what you're doing for him AND you. You're bettering yourself .. and furthering yourself. At this age, I'm sure he is perfectly alright. He'll probably have a little fun himself anyhoo. :) Don't worry. He'll be fine. It's not some horrible thing. *Michael.

Faking having cancer, can you imagine?
Understood, vossy dear .. I wouldn't have just any liar thrown in jail .. their rep will bounce back on them and haunt them. But this lady pretty was just straight decietful .. she lied to get others to feel sorry for her and get their money. I think that's sickening (in a literal sense) But that's the only reason I say let him sit in jail for a little bit, heh. :) I might have come a little harsh there, heh .. so this is my explanation. *Michael. PS. I agree, hogan .. nothing more to say than what you simply stated in this post. :) I dont' feel sorry for her at all.

emotional breakdown!
Welp, I'm blunt and I have no tact so .. to you "Cqc_Cqb" I'll say what everyone else probably THOUGHT when they read this post. "Wow, you're an asshole." Thanks. Not trying to start a flame war but hey .. you need the truth so I'm stating it. Somebody remind me to never work for this heartless person. I'm not even CLOSE to being an RN yet (though I'll get there soon!! ) but, for cryin' out LOUD!! I'm GLAD I don't work for you! I hope I don't get placed under somebody with your jarheaded mentality when I finish with my schooling and get ready for practice .. *Michael.

Nursing Home or Hospital?
In regards to and along the lines of my previous post this morning: For a new-coming CNA; what would y'all suggest I do (again, I realize these are only suggestions and not necesarrily "what I should do") as far as where I should work? Should I try to get a job at a Nursing Home or a Hospital? I know a couple people replied in my previous thread about the 120 hour instead of the 75 hour (which I believe is good advice and I'm going to look into switching instead of the 75); a couple people hit on this stating that a 120 would make it easier to work in a hospital. I'm wondering if I should try to work for a Nursing Home since it's more laid back and relaxed. I'm looking to work a graveyard shift (and here's why-->). I'm thinking that I will be able to work a 10-6 shift (or something related to that) and I would be able to possibly study some at night while I'm working. I've been in a few Nursing Homes where a friend of mine worked and she was able to do a little bit of studying in between running "rounds." She's going for her RN as well. Again, I could be wrong but that's why I'm coming to my new found friends! =P I'm just wondering if a night position at a Nursing Home would be more suitable for me while I'm in school. Or should I really try to just get in with a Hospital? My classes are running me 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. So I'm thinking maybe (maybe) I should work a 10-6 and then get ready for classes in the morning after work .. go to school, come home and study/sleep. Is that any kind of a plan or is that a layout for disaster? (Ha!) Is experience more what I'm gonna be looking for while I'm in school and working? Becuase if so, I'm assuming that a hospital is where I'm gonna wanna be .. or maybe no? Thanks guys .. I love y'all for your help! *Michael.

Texas nurses!
I lived in Texas for a loooooong time. :) Practically grew up there. That's where I'm hoping to go back to one day. But I'm gonna go to school here where I'm at. And then I'll check out and see what you have to do to move states but still keep your profession. :) Just thought I'd say hi. Heh. *Michael.
