  1. How soon do you need to take the exam if you applied recently for Jan 2018 entrance exam?
  2. Hello- I have a lot of student loan debt from my previous career in Business which adds to $165k but thats with interest that has acrued through the years. I want to get my BSN with Chamberlain and know there program is expensive, but at this point its my only choice. Is it possible to get additional loans? Anyone 2nd career students that are going through this situation? Thanks so much. My goal is start in Jan 2017
  3. Hi Alyssa33- I currently live in Houston, TX and have an MBA and am considering TWU for nursing, how does getting your pre-reqs @ TWU work in the sense of financial aid? Since your are taking a few science classes towards the nursing program, do you receive financial aid assistance? I am will be looking at appyling for Fall 2012 as well. Thank you so much!! Denise
  4. Nikkitee99~ Thank you soooo much for making this post. I highly appreciate it! It has given a lot of hope/positive outlook for continuing my dreams to pursue nursing even with all the odds. I really want to continue my education all I need is to take a few pre-reqs and apply to several schools. That is so awesome that today you are a PNP, That is one of the specialities I am thinking of pursuing or women's health. I will def check out the pricier schools since they are not as competitive. and that is my chance in trying to enter a ABSN or direct MSN program. Like you mentioned many people do get a car with the amount they have to finance and with this amount I can get a second major in an area that I really love. Thank you so much again! I can't thank you enough for all your pointers/advice. I am hoping to start my pre-reqs in the fall of this year. Thanks again!
  5. staphylococci~ Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my post. This has helped me alot! I will def check out this school and the tuition prices are very affordable. Do you live in AL? If you do how is the living there? I was looking at the website and the ABSN is 12 months that is awesome:lol2: I need to start taking my pre-reqs. Hopefully I will start taking them in the fall. Thanks so much!!
  6. CNA Sam~ Thanks so much for replying to my post. I will check out this school in Alabama, sounds great that gives more of chance to get in.. I wish you all the best of luck and hope you get in!! Quick me posted:clown:
  7. AspenVass~ Thank you so much for replying to my post. Congrats on getting into your school of choice! That is so awesome. I was checking out the University of OK and it looks really good. Have you started there program yet? Do you know how much will it cost for apartments like is it very pricey or more affordable? For ex: here I am paying $1300.00 for 2/1 condo. I am exploring different options re: relocating and schools. I was also looking at Texas, however have noticed that the schools there have a lot of pre-reqs requirements. Is OKC very quit? I lived in North Carolina for example and it was very quit but very beautiful a lot of new homes/apt. Thanks much!! I wish you all the best with school/career:nurse:
  8. Yes, me too I am in similiar situation because I have to finish my pre-reqs and Hubbie and I want to have a child soon and am working fulltime so its alot, but I dont want to give-up on my dreams of going to nursing and relocating and have a baby. Thats awesome you will be done before you know you will see:)
  9. Hi Melanie~ I am thinking the samething doing my BSN and then getting my NP degree. They are both great careers but I think the Nursing model is more my calling. Thanks so much! Good luck on your path!
  10. Hubbie and I went to maryland to the germantown area and it was so beautiful.. We loved it.. Its a bit pricey but very upscale. You know I have been applying alot but havent had any luck with securing a legal position. But I would love to live in DC surrouding areas. In what part of the nursing process are you in now?
  11. I have the same impression that the PA route takes forever and I am 31 and dont want to wait too long.. I know that NP route is really good too due to the opportunities that there is in with Nursing. Wow its incredible how popular PA are now a days there are hiring them alot. There is a large demand but I have seen the pre-reqs and are much more the PAs. Thanks much and many blessings to you!
  12. sleeplessnva thank you so much for answering my post. i love the dc area i was looking for a job there in what i currently do which is paralegal work to make the move and then begin my journey in taking my pre-reqs there, but couldn't secure a job. so i am still in fl:idea: i dont like florida i lived here all my life and am looking for a change. thank you so much for your words :)
  13. jroregon thank you so much for your advise. i will def check out the link you have provided to keep researching on this. like you said most schools are expensive. i have also noticed that the more affordable schools have along wait list and are very competitive at least in my area in fl. where are you in the path? i need to take a & p 1 & 2, micro, & chemistry and biology.. hopefully in the fall i will start, i made the mistake of taking 2 sciences class and a lab this semester in the winter 2010 and had to drop because i have a stressful job and was working 45-50 hours plus my classes.. i was losing my mind lol.. i wish all the best too!
  14. Thanks so much for your advise. Yes, my goal is to get my RN first and take baby steps to get to my goals. I need to take my pre-reqs. Which I will start in the fall due to a new job that I am taking which was a great offer and need ot be traveling a lot. However, what I meant with the waitlist was that I am looking for schools that are not so competitive, I know it will be hard to find. Let's see what happens. I haven't really researched the nurse anesthetist much since my calling is more to be NP. However its my 2nd option. I imagine it must be very competitive. Thanks, :)
  15. Hello everyone~ I am interested in the ABSN program and I from South florida and have a 2.9 BS and 3.3 MBA. Do you think I can qualify for this program? Also I how is the program like? Is it worth going it? How is living in OKC like? I have never been there and would like more information on it as well. If I were to move it would just be for me and my husband. If someone can provide me with some guidance I would highly appreciate it. Thanks so much in advance!
