  6. I haven't heard anything yet. Are you able to see my PM?
  7. Hi everyone, I had a question for those who have been hired by Cedars. For the open house, we are asked to select one unit of choice. Is L&D or Pediatrics an option? Thanks in advance for your help.
  8. Hopefully we'll hear good news soon!

  13. Hi NoMoreSchool! I have an interview next week for L&D. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! How are you doing?
  14. Do you meet with HR at all or just the unit directors for 20 minutes? Thanks and good luck all!

  16. did you choose L&D or NICU?
  17. i applied to the NICU.. let's hope good things happen for all of us! :)
  18. Hello everyone! I also applied to UCLA. My first choice was the NICU followed by peds. Nice to meet you all!
  19. Did you ask your school to bill hrsa?
  20. sorry, i was not trying to imply that you or anyone else was being ungrateful... i know it's a huge blessing for all of us. i was hoping to clear things up for 21amarice that my understanding of the scholarship is for tuition and fees, other reasonable costs, and a stipend for living expenses. Grants have to be deducted or else it's like having free money to pay for additional living costs. I hope I'm making sense..
  21. Living costs do add up and ~1300 is definitely not enough.. but let's be very grateful for being able to go to school for free and having some money to help us while we are in school. No other scholarship is this generous.. we are very lucky! And hopefully.. our loans will be paid off shortly after we start working as a RN! :)
  22. 21amarice, here is what it says on the bulletin: Payment of Tuition & Required Fees Tuition and fees will be paid directly to the nursing school that the awardee is attending. If tuition and fees for the initial Fall term of the 2009-2010 school year have been paid from another source of financial aid (e.g. Pell Grant, state grants or other scholarships), pending notice of an NSP award, the school may return payments to the source of funding and then submit an invoice to the NSP for payment. After the initial fall term, if sources of financial aid, other than NSP, have been used to pay for tuition and fees, the school will be instructed not to submit an invoice to the NSP for these costs, but to submit documentation stating that it will not be seeking payment for the term. However, if a balance remains, then the school may submit an invoice for the balance remaining. Although payments of tuition and fees are made directly to the nursing school, the student is liable for paying taxes on these amounts. See the “Taxation of the Nursing Scholarship.” Since the Pell Grant is basically free money, they subtract that. The scholarship is only for tuition and fees and the stipend is for the cost of living. Hope this helps.
  23. I'm in California and also in an accelerated program. I finish in August.. can't wait!
  24. I'm hoping for the best for you, RegisteredIN2010. Where do you go to school at? Looks like you'll be done soon!
