  1. I worked for NPHS in pool positions. The pool rates were very good, and you usually worked as much as you wanted. Being on staff was not beneficial as they offered very little to full time nurses The 2 hospitals are in very bad and dangerous neighborhoods,the parkig lots are unsafe. No matter what unit you work on, every patient seems to have a current or past history of a psych disorder and/or drug abuse. You see and treat the same patients over and over again, usually from the neighborhood with conditions exacerbated and complicated by their drug addictions It was obvious that most of the medical staff, did not care about the population that they treated. I worked there during the mid 90's, This is just my experience and honest observation. Hope it helps
