  1. Oh and from an experience today. "I heard you the first time you called for pain meds, THe second and third times I wanted to slap you upside the head. Then you decided to start calling right after I left the room. Now I'm just going to shove that ******* button up your ass. The nurse in report right now she will be in a ******* minute!"
  2. When a family member(s) want me to feed their loved one even though they're all sitting there on their asses doing absolutely nothing- "Feed them your f#($*ing self".
  3. I never took a class to become a PCT (NCT's as they were called at the hospital I worked at- Nursing Care Technicians). I had my CNA certification and they trained me in phlebotomy on the job. We didn't do EKGs on my unit but those that did were trained in that also. THe best part is they paid US for the training, instead of having to pay for it!
  4. I work in hospice, at a hospice inpatient unit. One time another CNA (no longer with the company) came in while I was in the room of a patient who had recently passed. Apparently he hadn't heard because I asked him "How long do you think it will take for the funeral home to get here?" (or something to that affectand he says "Shhh! She'll hear you, wait until she's dead to talk funeral homes!" I'm like, "Um, she died half an hour ago! Look at her". It was only then he actually looked at the pt and realized she was clearly no longer with us!
