The Sierra Nevada VA
They have been very nice to me so far, but I'm anxious just b/c of how slow it is. My interview was over a month ago and I'm still being processed. Very stressful

The Sierra Nevada VA
So I'm a new grad originally from California who graduated in Dec 2008. The job market has been pretty terrible and I got pretty excited about moving to Northern Nevada. I ended up with an interview at the Sierra Nevada VA and I think it went pretty well. I have to admit I was so excited/nervous to finally have such a promising interview that I didn't ask too many detailed questions about actually working at the facility. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone had any insight or opinions about working at the VA in Reno. Thanks in advance

Worth it to get license by endorsement?
Thanks for the response, just out of curiousity where in washington did you end up?

Worth it to get license by endorsement?
So I'm a licensed new grad in california and have had zero luck with jobs. I would love to work in washington and it seems like almost all the job postings say WA license required, so is it worth it to just get the license before I find a potential job or hope that a hospital will look past my lack of WA license and interview me anyways? I'm just worried that I won't even be considered without the license and don't want to miss out, on the other hand I don't want to end up with a useless license b/c hospitals aren't really hiring up there. any opinions would be appreciated, thanks
- New grad and NO JOBS!!

Any Nurses who work at Renown Hospital in Reno?

Any Nurses who work at Renown Hospital in Reno?
bit of a fiasco. the recruiter i originally interviewed with left Renown and since then I haven't heard anything which i assume means they didn't like me. oh well I just figured that after a panel interview I at least warranted a rejection phone call, guess not

STILL don't have a job?? Vent here!
As far as the prison thing, good luck. I was so excited to get an interview (any interview) at a Nevada prison and after a few minutes the guy says "oh, you're a new grad, sorry I didn't realize. Why don't you come back after you get some experience. We can't hire new grads rght now." Umm excuse me, were you just to lazy to read my application. I mean there was a little box to check about number of years experience and I ckecked the 0. Really didn't appreciate the 4 hour drive for a woops. Anyways it is all just so stressful. I just want a job already, it seems pathetic that even the nursing homes and clinics are turning away new grads. and i am looking into relocating but thats a big process too. sorry for the diatribe, its been a tough few months

No experience, no job. What will happen in two years?
i hope the job will happen eventually, I just hit my 6 month mark and it still isn't looking good. its just scary as a new grad right now

New Grad opportunities at Renown?
Thanks for the info. I actually got called back and have an interview. So now I just have to worry about that. I am still amazed I even got a phone call, I'm hoping northern nevada isn't quite as harsh on new grads as the bay area and am crossing my fingers and doing some hw.

New Grad opportunities at Renown?
I did my senior preceptorship in the ED which i loved, I'm also interested in the ICU but right now I would honestly take anything I was offered. The jobs are just so scarce I feel like I can't afford to be picky but it seems like renown has a lot to offer someone interested in a specialty. I just need to get that first job

New Grad opportunities at Renown?
Okay so i'm from the bay area and the job market just seems to be getting worse. I graduated with my BSN in December and have had zero luck. I'm interested in moving to Reno and would really love to work for renown. I've applied online and left mesages but no one has gotten back to me. There seem to be a number of new grad positions online and I know some hospitals down here are posting jobs that they already have filled and I guess I was just worried that was the case here as well. Any advice/info would be appreciated. Thanks again

New Nurse Graduate Curious About Applying w/o health experience
I live in a pretty tough job market (bay area) and I have no relevent experience and still no job, and I've had my license since february. However some of my classmates in similar positions have landed jobs so my fingers are still crossed.

Applying for out of state jobs as a new grad
okay so here is my question, I graduated with a BSN in December and now have a CA license but am still having zero luck landing even an interview in the bay area. I understand its a tough job market and am totally up for relocating.Maybe I am being too picky but I would really prefer to stay in the northwest, however when I go to apply for jobs in Oregon, Washington etc they all say you are required to have a valid license in that state. So anyone have any tips on how to get in as an out of state applicant? I can't really afford to go and get licensed in three states and I guess after all the rejection out here I am a little wary of pinning all my hopes on just one location. Just frustrated and looking for any advice...thanks again
