  1. :yeah:Congratulations on your interview!!! I do not know where you attended nursing school, however, I am sure you received some clinical experiences with pediatrics as well as theory on growth and development. Remember that much of that content focused on approaches to patients in different stages of development, i.e. the toddler, preschooler, school age and adolescent. Focus on what you DO KNOW! Think back to your clinical experiences. Did you have any pediatric patients? Did you visit a day care? See pediatric patients in a doctor's office? Handle newborns in OB rotation? Your desire and enthusiam to work with pediatric patients will also go a long way in impressing your interviewer.:redbeathe Be sure to dress professionally, be on time, act confident, and think and speak in a positive manner. Good Luck!!!:wshgrt:
  2. I am amazed that facilities aren't even supplying the necessary equipment for nurses to give quality care!!! While I think it shows your commitment to your patients and your profession to purchase what you need -- I really think you should go to the DON, or whomever in charge and demand the equipment you need.
  3. I was wondering if anyone knows the laws for allowing LPNs to work unsupervised in a nursing home setting. I realize they can dispense medications and follow the existing plan of care...but isn't there supposed to be an RN in the building at least. I ask because I realized today that a nursing home in Illinois has one nurse, a LPN, and two aides working the 11p to 7 am shift. There is no RN in the building. Is this legal?
