  1. i go to wallace and love it...i live in birmingham and commute. I dont mind the drive since i wont be living there after school anyway. As far as which one is better?? im not a person to judge but check the nclex passing rates and compare the two that should explain which is better....here is a list http://www.associatedegreenursing.com/states/alabama/ wallace 2008 NCLEX Pass Rate: 91.1% (146 students) Jeff state 2008 NCLEX Pass Rate: 82.5% (223 students)
  2. yes they have lost there accreditation. Its just not updated yet
  3. you can make A's without reading all those books, i didnt read half of mine. But i keep it for future references. IF i could go back i wouldnt have bought all the books though. like the pharmacalogy book "Karch" my class didnt even use that till second semester.........
  4. i guess that means your not coming to wallace fashionistaRN haha. Well good luck to everyone who will start their nursing journey this fall. Study Study!!! CONGRATULATIONS to those who got in. And to those who didnt dont give up its just a part of life...peace
  5. im in my second semester of nursing school at wallace and im enjoying it...great teachers friendly people. I stayed at the dorm last semester but im driving this summer semester. Its not that bad a drive i live in birmingham....good luck to all of u
  6. Man, Pass your damn Nclex first then start worrying about your job applications.
  7. there are many job opportunities and its not just in ALABAMA. Use your education and broaden your horizon.
  8. My friend said it was 40k, he played with the idea of going there because hes at Jeff State and hes not sure he will be able to get in. Im not trying to be sarcastic but do they think there Harvard or something? I know many who have been rejected at Jeff State once or twice. Anyways not trying to get off subject but, yah its way overpriced
  9. HOOVER, i dont need to explain why because when you get here you will love it.
  10. I went to UAB and took my Anatomy's, Microbiology, and Chemistry there. Have fun with Professor McClure for Chemistry if anyone go over there LOL
  11. Memorization and photographic memory LOL Just memorize it you will be fine. Now when you get into Microbiology that's different. Note cards helped me in ways..
  12. So i assume that you are wanting to go for the associate degree. Well if what u say is true, it seems to me that you are taking college preparatory classes in high school and as of now have a good grade on your act. You say your reading is good and you have a good enough score to get into Math 116. As far as my thoughts go, there are many universities open to you here in Alabama. EX. Troy university, University of North Alabama etc...i think you will be fine
  13. yes go for math 100. math 116 is going out the window soon.
  14. oh yah, Bevill State has dormitories too.
  15. Wallace State in Hanceville has a Lady's Dormitory as well as Men's. But not as big as universities dorms understandably.
  16. If you got accepted to the nursing program straight up yah then i can believe its about 3000 dollars even more. Thats the 1st term of nursing school which consist of nursing classes and prerequisite (MTH 116 or higher, BIO 201, NUR 102, NUR 103, NUR 104. Thats a total of 15 credit hours!! Since you been there for a few semesters already and only got a HUM elective this time around and mentioned you only have NUR classes to worry about. I assume you finished your prerequisites already. So it prolly wont cost u much, my guess a little bit over a thousand 1st term (guess only). Thats if you only have your nursing classes in the way, which would be a total of 8 credits. NUR School gets less stressful as u progress but still need to put all your heart into it or u wont make it. I went to UAB too, but decided after my 1st sem there, to pursue the associate degree. It would be faster and if i decide to go for the BSN I can apply for the transition RN to BSN which would take only a year and i can work at the same time. Anyways, goodluck to all of you, may you all be great future nurses. Good Day
  17. wallace in hanceville :] i forgot to put that small detail in there
  18. hello i am new in this forum, i will be attending wallace this spring 2009 for my nursing classes. Nur 102 Nur 103 Nur 104 and EMS100 (CPR). My CPR class overlaps my Skills Lab for NUR 102 which is a Friday, but my nursing advisers have told me that my instructors for NUR 102, will allow me to miss the lab so i can go to my CPR class. Is anyone here in the same predicament? Also, if anyone here kindly share thier experiences with pharmacology that went to wallace. I took Math 100 and got an A but i consider math to still be my weakest subject. I hear that pharmacology has alot of math in it. Thats the only class im kind of nervous with. Also, i am considering to have a dorm for this spring. I have paid my downpayment of 200 dollars but have not paid the full amount. Im still leaning toward carpooling so if anyone here live close to hoover alabama contact me through this forum. Thank for the people who read my post.
