Nurses, are you glad that Obamas Healthcare Bill Passed?
We could afford it before the previous president went shopping in China and maxed out the credit cards. Too many people aren't getting the care they deserve, and it is a SIMPLE and BASIC right~to be able to have care. No one should go bankrupt because they are sick, no one should die if they have a curable disease. I am completely for healthcare reform, we may have to tweak it a little as we go, but it is an important step and a much needed one. The insurance companies are out of control and they need to be put in check. I can't wait to have insurance, I haven't had it since I was a child living with my mom, I am 27 years old (thank goodness I take care of myself) and I have yet to have insurance.

Graduate Nurse, can't find a job
So I'm a graduate nurse, have my RN license, and I cannot find a job. I've been looking since January. Is anyone else having this issue? Many of my friends have found jobs. I have 3 resumes, I've put in over 50 applications, and all I get are rejection letters. Granted I don't have the minimum 1 year experience, but I'm applying to GN positions. I have great letters of recommendations from instructors, and also gained lots of experience during clinicals and especially during practicum. I'm so depressed, I don't know what to do. I just want to cry. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Newbie Needs Advice
I agree with MILOBUST, it's incredibly important to stay ahead, look at the syllabus and get familiar with the information. For A&P: Mostly memorization. It helps if you have a diagram that you can look at while you study (one that's on your wall) Chemistry: It's hard, but not impossible to do while doing A&P. All of the Davis's books tittled "success" are amazing! Some come with cd's and are really easy to read and follow. From the start of your nursing classes, get yourself an NCLEX study book (again NCLEX success by Davis, is my fav! I used it and passed my boards on the first try, mainly because I used it from nursing 1-6, and did 100-200 NCLEX questions a day from it's CD) The hardest class your going to take is probably chemistry, because it's so complex. But tell you what, once you have done your hardest class, nursing school wont seem UN-doable. From the beginning of nursing school, you'll find that your thinking is going to be challenged, chemistry and A&P are mainly memorization, but nursing is completely different. You need commonsense and an open mind. Not only that, you need to think critically and follow your intuition. I'm sure that you're going to do great! In my graduating class there were two women over 50 that did it! I wish you the best of luck, and if you need any books, I'm selling mine!

HESI Exit Exam Tips/Help ;**(
hi, don't despair. as far as i know, i've taken the hesi in every semester at my nursing school, and i've been able to log onto the evolve/elsevier website and review my scores. every semester i score really well, because i go back and look at my areas of weakness and do nlcex3500, here's the website http://nursing.goivytech.net/nclexrn3500/mainmenu.do;jsessionid=464e45f7f647943232e51c889227f4cd don't panic, the hesi is predictable and if you read what you need to improve on, you'll do well. i failed my second semester because i was only sleeping 4 hours a night and not recalling anything. when it was time to take the hesi again, i simply studied the material i had gotten wrong, and scored a 99.03% on it. you can do it! hope this helps.
