  1. I'm still a student nurse but I've lived in Nashua my whole life. You can look up St Joseph's Hospital or Southern New Hampshire Medical Center to see what they are offering for positions. Though the hospitals are always expanding and there are plenty of Retirement Homes, jobs aren't abundant. I know people who have been looking for over a year...some of them with a lot of experience in big city hospitals. Again as far as salary goes...a wild guess, starting wage....$17 for LPN...$25 for RN.
  2. Congratulations everyone! DevilDog, I got accepted in both Nashua and Manchester but I've decided on Nashua...so maybe you'll get my seat there! There is still a real possibility that you'll get in :)
  3. Nashua is my first choice because of several small differences. It's closer to my house, I'm required to take one less class (Human Growth) and when I totaled up the fees it should cost me about $2000 less to go there. Plus they have a gym now which means I can cancel my gym membership and save a couple hundred dollars a year. Does anyone have any opinions on Nashua vs. Manchester? Perks or downsides?
  4. I got my letter from Nashua! I got in! Hooray!
  5. Thank you for that info Niko1999! Hope you get in where you want! Another MOnTH! Ugh, I can't deal.
  6. I'm dying to know....letters yet anyone? NashuaCC's letters should be out by now, right? And ManchesterCC, theirs are out by mid-March?! I can't take the stress of waiting any longer!! ugh!
  7. Waiting on Nashua and Manchester....anyone receive their letters yet?
  8. Thanks for all of your replies. I think this kind of information is really important in order to plan for the future. It's not going to stop me from becoming an RN but it will help me map my moves post-grad. Does anyone know how difficult it get work for a charity (i.e. Unicef, Red cross, etc.)? Would I need a lot of experience before I could do something like this or is it possible to get my feet wet this way? My whole idea behind going to Nursing school was so that I could do this sort of work, is it easier to get into before or after a more permanent hospital job? maybe I should start a new thread for this one. Again thanks. And please keep the info coming :wink2:
  9. Hi there, I'm embarking on a second career as an RN. I've been reading about the difficult of the job market for new grads. I was wondering how hard it is for a new RN grad to find hospital work in your region of the country. How long it took you to find work, was it part-time, the wages offered, was it in the specialty you wanted? Thanks. Just and FYI : I'm in New Hampshire but am very close to Boston.
