I,m a PICU Nurse i work 12 hours shift i know its a very stressful area to work with but its very light Physically and rewarding too as a Nurse.. my problem start when I become pregnant... i already informed the head Nurse that i am pregnant and i supposed from now on asking Him not to put me at least to a communicable patients but apparently this doesnt happen still i'm looking after CMV, Epstien virus, herpes zooster patients even chicken pox,H visa , MRSA, VRE . Really, i dont know what to do..........please help me at this point of my carreer i'm thinking of resigning....:angryfire:angryfire
  2. The same feeling happens to me especially now that I'm working in PICU very stressful area all the childs sick.It only gets better lately when i start telling myself that I have a goal for my carreer and that i can only do my best and if my best is not good enough... well bad luck...a piece of advise you need to make your off days fruitful and dont be disturb about work ,, at the end of the day work is only work what is more important is that your healthy and your happy...remember we only live once... so its not worth making our life miserable....Be happy...and try to think about positive side and surely eveything will follow.
  3. I am with you, as a new Nurse its not easy but Nursing cannot be learn as an overnight job, not only the protocols in that certain hospitals but you need to learn different attitudes of people from high positions to lowest rank. Take it as a challenge and say to your self I,m a Nurse because I,m strong , i can handle this its okay, everything well be alright. The only golden attitude that i have and i can surely share to you is that Nursing is a "Take it or leave it Job"....just live one day at a time...you,re there to control the situation dont let the situation control you....Good luck:bugeyes:
