Hi everyone. My name is Amanda and I'm new here. I'm a new LPN and I work on an orthopedics/med surg floor. This board looks like it's really interesting. I guess I'll be chit chatting with you all later!
  2. the usual. . . .fingersticks, documenting I&O's, emptying trash, passing waters, documenting meals, answering lights, dc'ing iv locks. . . .stuff like that and if you are on orthopedics like me then you can set up traction.
  3. Good luck with everything. I don't work nights, but some of my co-workers that I graduated with say that they like it. They tell me that they don't have a problem staying awake. Just try to stay busy!
  4. It's really up to you. I've seen one older nurse wear one and she wears it all the time. A long time ago that's how to distinguish a nurse. I'm young so I don't like it. It's basically personal preference.
