Sorry to say, but there are very very little chances for h1b, my OPT expires in a couple weeks, I am a BSN, i have tried everything, I found a company who would sponsor, but its the immigration who doesn't give the visa easily, I have talked to many smart people and h1b visa really not the choice of staying in the country. I am hanging in the air and very upset about a whole thing, I have a great job that sadly I will have to leave due to the gaps in the immigration system. Good luck!

Hi, I am an RN -BSN. Graduated in May of 2009. I am on opt that is going to expire in July 2010, I'm trying to get H1B currently, but nothing seems working. Just a few days ago I was hired at fresenius kidney dialysis center. I am wondering if it would be considering a specialty and I could ask for sponsorship. Please help, I am loosing my mind. Also if they would sponsor, by what time they would have to file... is it April 1st? Thank you

I am graduating in two weeks. Yes…I am almost there and I made it. I applied to UIC for the early admition, it was number one choice for me, but I thought I had no chances to get in, I also applied to another 16 nursing colleges in IL. Well… I didn’t get to UIC for the early admition or regular admition, but I received a call from the office for the LATE admition, a MONTH BEFORE classes were starting. Well… I dropped all the other offers I had from the other nursing prgrams, and without a doubt transferred to UIC. Leave your application until the last minute, some people drop out before starting the rogram because don’t pass or finish their prerequisites, some can’t pay for school; some- break the leg (literally). The program is great, professors are your friends and want you to do well, they are not pain in the behind like in community colleges or other nursing schools, they really help you to understand, learn, and love your future career… and please, once you are in… use their help. My GPA was high, mostly A’s and a couple B’s, I heard it was more competitive this year, so study study study, you can’t slack around, you probably will start drinking coffee :smiletea2:(happened to me, but I am not addicted). Essay is extremely important, don’t say how you want to change the world, it has to be a very sincere story something that stuck from your childhood experience, something you’ve experienced in the hospital, other country or whatever, think about it for a couple months before writing, it has to be unique. THEY DO READ THEM!!!! Oh… even though I got in for the late admition, I am ahead of some of those who were on the top of the list for the early admition. I hope that helps.

i am in il, as far as i heard, smaller hospitals or health organizations are better to ask for sponsoring since huge and, of course, great hospitals have enough applicants as it is. sorry we are in the worse time to become nurses

hi, last couple weeks i had nursing recruiters in my college, 3 out 0f 15 said that will sponsor international students. i am confused... does that mean they will petition for me, but that will not guarantee for me h1b visa? i am also planning to go see the immigration lawyer, should i not waste my money? thanks

I am on F-1 visa, going to be graduating in May 2009 from university in Chicago area. I am confused with all the paperwork and due dates that need to be done, my plans are to stay in US and work here, also get a green card. So if I am graduating on May 4 of 2009, and my F-1 will be stopped. The earliest I will be able to take NCLEX at the end of June due to paper work my school will be preparing for NCLEX exam. I will apply for OPT no later than March 4, Correct? Then I have to start working no later than July 4th, so... I am wondering what if by that time I will not know the NCLEX results and what if I don't pass it the first time?? What happens with OPT. Other concern is that I am volunteering at the hospital, I thought I would put it on my resume since I've never worked, but I just found out that I need CPT for it, and as far as I read on this forum, that if I get CPT it will take time off my OPT, is that true? if yes, then do you think I should stop volunteering and not bother with CPT so I could have a full year of OPT??? Gosh... so confusing? I am so nervous since there will be million things to do in addition to passing NCLEX:cry: Please, guide me with all the steps I need to take to be straightened with the paperwork.
